Braves new owner?
Question:How will the sale of the Braves franchise affect the organization? Will this increase the teams payroll? Does this improve any chances of resigning Andruw Jones?
Answers:
I don't think they'll re-sign Andruw regardless because he'll command at least a 8-year, 160 million dollar deal in the open market since that was the deal Vernon Wells got last year, and Boras is Andruw's agent.
no. the new owner wants to cut payroll.but Bud Selig made a deal with them that they have to keep payroll the way it is right now and the GM and Manager wont be fired.

Where is steve kemp, former baseball player?
In the near term it should not impact the day-to-day operations of the team. MLB looked for provisions to lock player payroll levels at, or above the last three seasons. That means John Schuerholz and Bobby Cox can continue to go about business.Off the field, they also retain Terry McGuirk as president of the franchise.
In other words, the deal today is fairly seamless.
As a longterm arrangement, Liberty must own the Braves for at least 5 years or they must pay taxes on the Braves sale transaction. That would be approx. $160 million.
All that said, they will most likely turn the team as soon as they can sell it. While Liberty continues to gobble up regional sports networks, and now owns the majority of DirecTV, a sports franchise breaks from their portfolio.
