Better than other HOF stats. What do you think?

Answers:

I don't know anything about BASEBALL and the guy I like is a baseball player and played his whole life?

I think he will be in the HOF. The question is will he be a first ballot HOFamer. How many more years can he play? He still plays like he has 5 years left in him. If that is the case, he could make a run at 3000 hits. If he accomplishes that then it is a done deal, first ballot Hall of Famer.

Major Leaguers using Nokona gloves?

although he isnt big anymore, he was an outstanding defensive player and his batting was also good, but is usually overlooked

Why are Yankee fans so jealous of The Detroit Tigers?

He has great statistics and the gold gloves. Definitely when he is elligble. You never hear his name and steriods, either.

Should Bary Bonds be walked the rest of the year?

I can assure you that Omar Vizquel will NEVER make the Hall of Fame based on current voting trends and tendencies. He has great defensive numbers but no real offense to go with it, making him "almost" a one dimensional ballplayer. I realize he could hit for average, but .275 is not HOF material when you consider he had no power at all. His on base percentage was also quit poor.

He will never get voted in if players such as Jim Rice, Andre Dawson and Bert Blyleven are still sitting around waiting for invitations.

Can someone explain Yankee fans to me, why do they hate A Rod so much?

hmmmm tough. He will probly will be in and yes I think he should

If the Yankees went 0-162 would their fans still be as cocky as they are now?

I think he should be, very solid career. Made many web gems against the Sox, still frustrates me.

To Duke, the players you listed have to be voted in through the veterans, that's a little harder then when your first eligible.

Baseball Equipment?

I don't think so, not that I have anything against him. If he does, it'll be with the veteran's committee.

Mets One hitter?

personally, i think absolutely. however, according to his stats, he's borderline at best.

if you refer to link i provide, at the end of this "appearances..." section, look for three lines that show his "gray ink", "HOF standards", and "HOF monitor". they show that omar's weakness was his hitting. unfortunately, they don't normalize against other steroid-hitters in his era, and they still don't have a proper statistic for fielding.

while he did win 11 gold gloves, he was in the all-star game only three times.

Where is the best place to watch a Cubs game in NYC?

If he makes the Hall, his hitting will only be a secondary factor. His defense was some of the best in baseball during his time. I do not believe he will make it right away when he gets on the ballot, but I'm sure he will get there eventually.

My softball coach treats me like crap. any suggestions to fix it or deal with it?

He should make it as a player. I'd say he's a better player than the overrated Cal Ripken Jr.

Can anyone give me an accurate scouting report on Mike Jacobs (1B - Florida Marlins), hitting, fielding, etc.?

I don't really think so.

Jim Rice and Andre Dawson put the fear of God into the people they played against, and put up much better offensive numbers for a much longer amount of time, and they aren't in the hall.

Plus, Defense has been proven to only acount for 5-10% of who wins and who loses, so take his fielding numbers with a grain of salt, because it probably helped him a lot to have Roberto Alomar playing with him in the middle.

Cleaveland Indians hall of fame? Yes.
Baseball hall of fame? No

Answer this question right?

Of course. Why wouldn't he be? His stats with the Tribe will get him in.=)

Does anyone know any websites that shows MLB games for free?

Ah...the great Omar Vizquel Debate. Is he a Hall of Famer? No, and I will tell you why. While Vizquel is certainly a good defensive player, his abilities are overrated, similar to Rey Ordonez. Baseball fans tend to overrate defensive players because of what they see on ESPN (Jim Edmonds being a great CF, the aforementioned Ordonez, etc.). Vizquel was basically a nightly staple of "Web Gems", and the common fan is led to believe that he was the greatest defensive infielder alive. This is not so. Just because he made the prettier plays, it doesn't mean he was the best. I compare Vizquel to Ozzie Smith (a player of similar ability and talent), and it's no contest. Ozzie made more plays in the same time span (19 seasons) than Vizquel. Check out the numbers: Ozzie had a grand total of 2511 games, 4249 putouts, 8375 assists, and 281 errors (because he made more plays). Omar had 2463 games, 3801 putouts, 7030 assists, and 176 errors. While Ozzie falls short of Omar's numbers in double plays and fielding percentage (1590 and .978 to 1589 and .984 ), keep this in mind: the fielding percentage is low because Ozzie made more plays! Omar is good, but not good enough to make baseball's hallowed Hall.

Name the opening day lineup for theOakland A's in 1968?

I think that he makes it based on a career of brilliant defense. Ozzie Smith made the hall and his offense was comparable to Vizquel. Will they put up his picture in an Indians uniform or a Giants uniform?

Will you cheer for Bonds when he breaks the record?

Seeing as Ozzie Smith is a hall of famer strictly on Defensive abilities I would have to 100% say Omar Vizquel will get into the hall of fame. Will he a be a first time ballot winner, maybe not. While he has a better Fielding PCT than Ozzie Smith, Ozzie was an icon for the game during his playing time, Vizquel is not and could effect when he gets into the hall but he is going in there.

Which Los Angeles teams Angels or Dodgers better this season?

I think he should. He's one of the best shortstops ever in the feild.

What does "called up from minors-not to report" mean in baseball?

1000% yes

Why were the bosox wearing green last week?

Serious consideration

If you caught a home run ball hit by the opposing team, what would you do?

Well Omar has a slight chance with the current numbers but if he hits 500 Doubles or 3,000 hits he'll get in.

Does anyone know Mitch Williams(the baseball player) address?

He absolutely should be in. He's the best defensive infielder i've seen in my lifetime. Ozzie Smith is in the HOF and Vizquel will finish with better offensive numbers. Should be a lock for the HOF

Name all of the players in major league baseball to wear the number 0 or 00 in their career?

You bet, Hall Of Fame!!

Why do people accuse the yankees of buying championships?

Yes. If Rizzuto is in, so is Visquel. Omar's' already done enough, and hes not through yet.

You are starting a team and you can only pick 1 player from each group.?

maybe. the gold gloves will get him in.

I need to see it! Who can find Glenallen Hill's HR video -- May 11, 2000 -- he crushed on ontop of a building

I think that he should go into the hall of fame. I will always remember him as a Cleveland Indian.

Why is baseball so boring on TV?

it will be tight but i say no. 2500 hits isnt enough. BA is average. However gold gloves very good

Now that roger clemens is back in the Bronx, what do you think their post season chances are?

I'd rather see him than cheater Barry Bonds.

How?????

Compare his statistics to hall of famer Ozzie Smith and you have your answer.

How to throw a cutter?

Id say hes a Hall of Famer. Generally, I would not think so with his career offensive numbers, but the fact that Ozzie Smith got in with similar offensive and was a defensive whiz like Omar, I would think he would get in hands down. Not a first ballot hall of famer, but he will get in within 5 years of his eligibility
