Does anyone think that if Barry Bonds breaks the home run record he should be recognized as the record holder?
Question:Ok, Barry Bonds according to most was on steroids and beefed up when he went and hit most of his home runs in the latter years, now, this is a opinion question, but do you think with all the criticism and the speculation surrounding his steroid use he should be recognized as a legitimate holder of the record when he breaks it? or is he just another cheater who we should not recognize?

Although I don't condone the 'roids, I still think that the record will be legit. First off, Barry was by no means the only baseball player in the '90s who was taking steroids. A huge percentage were taking them. So, how come Barry Bonds is the only person who's hitting this many homers this consistantly? why isn't everyone breaking the record? Because, steroids don't make someone a great baseball player-all they do is increase muscle growth. They do absolutely nothing for your mechanics, your skill, or your hand-eye coordination. Barry Bonds has the some of the best coordination and mechanics in modern baseball history; that's why he's so good. Why do you think he's so difficult to strike out? Why has he hit over .300 so many times? Steroids didn't do squat there. No amount of steroids can make someone Barry Bonds; if they could have, they would have.Who thinks David Ortiz took steriods?
Hell No because he was already accused of using steroids so maybe he did and they are just supporting what he did so if he breaks it no one should really celebrate with him. yeah ok he did it when it wasnt against mlb policy but he still used sime kind of steroids that his trainer gave him and he admitted to it you can look it up at wikipedia.com and just put barry bondsWhat is a baseball Sim League? Does it require a baseball video game? what is so fun about it?
i think he should be recognized because it hasent even been proven that he did it and even if he did do it, he took the steroids when it wasnt agaisnt mlb policy at the timeWhat is the best baseball team?
when he does,of course he shouldIf you had an extra 600 million lying around would you buy the chicago cubs?
Absolutely! I think that before it is all over, we will learn that there were a lot of people taking steroids or using HGH and there will be a ton of pitchers on that list. Jason Grimsley will just be the first on a list of many. So what do we do? Go back and only count the HRs vs the pitchers on steroids? Will we ever know?Let's face it, he played in an era of steroids; you have to recognize him as the record holder. But don't worry, A Rod is on pace to blow Bonds out of the water so it wont last long.
Bonds=Cheater
Let's stick with short stops, Jose Reyes or Derek Jeter?
Look at the photos of him in his first season, and of him now. Major change ! No, we should NOT recognize him. Why isn't anyone mentioning it's taken him twice as many games to reach these records ?Wait a minute. He's near a record? Are you cetain? There's been an impostor in his uniform since the beginning of the '99 season, so how can you be certain?
Where can i find the worth of a Ty cobb autograph?
He did steroids. But when he hits 756, he'll be the record holder, but I would put a star as big as his ego right next to his name. Are the trade rumors about Brad Lidge to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays true?
yes i doWhy do Major League Baseball teams play opening day and then take the next day off?
Well, you have to recognize him as the record holder, since we have no idea how many homers he hit while he was juiced. And even if he did take steroids, that doesn't change the fact that he did hit all of those homers, you can't just go back and erase them from the books. Baseball really doesn't have a choice; if he hits 756, then he's the record holder. However, having said that, I HATE Barry Bonds. He is a cheater. He used steroids and then he came up with some bonehead excuse about how he didn't know they were steroids when he took them instead of owning up to his mistake, just like every other player who has taken steroids. He will get credit for the record, but he doesn't deserve it. If I were a baseball manager, I would walk Bonds at least once every time I played the Giants, to protest him. If I was really smoking the Giants, I would walk him every time he came up to bat. Barry Bonds is a liar and a cheater and I hope that after he gets the record, he is tormented every single day of his life with the knowledge of the fact that he CHEATED to break the most sacred record in the most sacred game in America. He's never been caught so therefore should be the record holder if he breaks it
I would just like to correct carl the tard. He said it took barry way more games...?? Barry has less at bats then Hank Aaron by a large margin. He will be the record holder and it should be recognized.
Who, in your opinion, is the best bullpen reliever?
we should recognise him....but not as much as everyone else...What is the greatest baseball game you ever been to?
They are gona put him in the books but people will remember him as a cheater to get there.yes. we just have to acknowledge that 'roids are prevalent in sports. he is homeruns, and lots of em. besides a short one month period, how many homers did fellow roid rager ARod hit?
ppl in the NFL do roids all the time, and nobody cries about the sack record set by the lb for the Giants, or about Reggie White ect.
and getting a sack is a LOT harder than hitting a hr.
Are pitcher's from the past better than the ones today?
Speculation is not proof. He should and will be recognized as mlb's new home run king. Why does a 'K' count as a putout for the catcher?
i'm tired of this.barry bonds has never tested positve nor admitted to the use of steroids.
even the years he is accused of using, baseball had no rule against their use, and one would have to assume, most players were atleast trying them, and still no other hitter has posted these numbers. the playing field was level. he still outplayed the rest of the field.
i'm done. the record is his. i'm done.
and you can't cheat if there is no rule against it. it's common sense. he is not a cheater.
What is the all-time record between the Cleveland Indians and Kansas City Royals?
Wrong. Barry Bonds was never regarded by most to be on steroids. The few who accuse him are saying he took HGH, not steroids. Bad question.Anybody got a theory as to why offense keeps going up?
Yes, for one simple reason. The record book says "Most Home Runs, Career." Once Bonds hits 756, he will have the highest number of career home runs in MLB history. It won't change my opinion that Bonds is a jerk who probably used steroids. But records are not supposed to have an "oh by the way" clause. If Mark McGwire is recognized for hitting the most HR in a season, Bonds must be recognized for hitting the most in his career (once he passes Hank Aaron). It didn't help McGwire make the Hall of Fame, and I sure as heck hope it won't vault Bonds into Cooperstown either. But the record book is a list of statistics, not a subjective evaluation of who the best players are.
