Question:Ozzie Smith was the highest payed player in the national league durnign the 1988 season. Infact, he was the highest paid player out of both leagues topping George Brett of the Royals.
On the other hand...

A pitcher being highest-paid wouldn't surprise me. But Kevin Brown does. How Do U Throw A RISER/FLOATER With A Wiffle Ball?
Ozzie Smith. Kevin Brown came off a world series and he was a dominate pitcher that could take a team to the world series, when healthy and in his prime.well Carl Pavono gets paid a ton and he gets hurt every time he takes the hill
Kevin Brown. He was a great pitcher, but the Wizard was just that. I enjoyed watching those St. Louis games because of him.
Why can't pitchers bat worth a darn in baseball??
Kevin Brown suprises me more because he wasnt the best pitcher, and he was injury prone tooit doesn't really surpirse me
if alex rodriguez can get a huge contract then y can't others?
baseball routinely overpays its players and they don't even lead to a championship
look a the yankees nearly 200 million on their payroll and the cards win the world series.
How many consecutive games did Cal Ripken Jr. play?
I remember that.Unless your Pedro Martinez in your prime...no way a SP should be highest paid in the league. A SP cannot win every playoff game played and they do lose games occasionally. Position players rarely lose games and in most cases improves the team...more wins especially if the players is highest paid..shocking that the Yankees pay almost 100 million in luxury tax that's luxury tax that does not include the 130 million against the cap
