Don Drysdale. Very underrated.

John Smoltz. A great starter and even better reliever.
Sandy Koufax. Unbeievable. Very fun to watch.

Why is Ichiro's batting average so low this year?

Cy Young - He knew how to win and never backed down from a hitter.
Bob Gibson - Tough as nails and knew how to study the game and the hitters.
Sandy Koufax - Strong pitcher who gave you a chance to win every time he was on the mound.
Greg Maddux - Bulldog has won throughout his career with the second string of teams. When he was the Braves he always had the backup players on the mound when he pitched. I have always wondered how many games he would have won if the best players played when he was on the mound?
Roger Clemens - Here is one of the games toughest most solid pitchers. He has command of his pitches just as all the above did with one acception he truly knows and loves the game.

Why is opening day at 1pm? They trying to get people fired?

Tough question.

I'm going to go with

Roger Clemens
Sandy Koufax
Greg Maddux
Bob Gibson
Warren Spahn

I like the nice combination of power and finesse mixing those guys up. Although, I would love to put Tom Seaver in there!

The minnasota Twins Home Hat...?

1. Koufax-if we make the playoffs, I want the ball in his hand for game 7.
2. Gibson-intimidating power pitcher.
3. Palmer-you have to have the women come to the ballpark.
4. Spahn-another lefthander for the rotation, and a great one.
5. Maddux-a nice fifth starter, I don't think many on the list would be happy being the fifth starter, but Maddux is unselfish.

Why is it that you cannot cast vote for pitchers for the all-star game?

Sandy Koufax- Good left handed pitcher
Greg Maddux- Consistent
Warren Spahn- Overpowering
Cy Young- Their's a reason their's an award named after them
Bob Gibson- Didn't give up runs, lots of K's

Can a pitcher freeze a runner by lifting his leg and holding it for approximately a second before going home?

Cy Young
Bob Gibson
Dizzy Dean
Warren Spahn
Roger Clemens

I think this would be a perfect rotation. I just threw Clemens in their so I could have one player from this era (as I consider him to be the best pitcher of this era). If you had all these pitchers at their prime, then you wouldn't have to worry about losing very much, if at all!

My friend, Satan, joined our softball team. What posistion should he play?

1) Bob Gibson - To me, this guy was a true ace, overpowering, very intimidating, and a guy who could set the tone for the entire team.
2) Warren Spahn - We need a lefty, so we might as well get the best one in the history of the game. Spahn and Saine and pray for rain, right?
3) Don Drysdale - Another incredibly intimidating pitcher, overpowering too. I like guys that don't let the hitter get comfortable. I know how hard that makes it for them to do their jobs.
4) Greg Maddux - I love this guy. He's a genius, the kind of guy who helps the other guys around him with their gameplanning. He understands pitching, and provides a nice change of pace from the other hard throwers. A true control artist.
5) Frank Tanana - People don't realize that Tanana pitched on the same staff as Nolan Ryan... and actually had a better arm than the Texas Express. Could you imagine Tanana with that blazing 100+ MPH fastball... PLUS the array of breaking balls that he developed after he lost his heater? He might well have been one of the best pitchers in history... and as my 5 starter, I'm willing to take my chances on him.

Cy Young (nobody's ever going to get more wins than he did)
Warren Spahn
Sandy Koufax (the top 2 lefties of all time)
Greg Maddux (perhaps the most accurate of all time)
John Smoltz (he can both close and start, and he still managed 16 wins last year with a, sadly, horrendous Atlanta Braves team)
