Who is better Jose Reyes or Derek Jeter?

Jose Reyes. He is younger, he is faster and i think he has a stronger arm. He also is a switch hitter which is god. I'm a Met fan so this is probably bias but i always though that some of Derek Jeter's plays are made to look harder than they actually were. For example, when he ran and dove into the stands, i have watched this play many times because I argue about it with Yankee Fans, but to me, Derek Jeter caught the ball in basically fair territory, he just didn't try sliding to stop, he just kept running and dove into the stands but he didn't catch the ball in the stand/ Derek Jeter to me is a fake sometimes.How do I get 50$ in a month at the age of 10?

i dont need the why, this is a DUMB question, Reyes is a flop compared to my boy Jeter, Jeter is a true Yankee, hence him being the best and no flop from the mets can be considered good since they blow it in the playoffs every year. interms of what? if your talking about being a leader. its hands down jeter. but lets be real now. reyes's stats are just that much better than jeters in every aspect of the game.i mean..come on now. fantasy wise (and that's now many are judging players worth now a days) reye's is a top 2 or 3 pick. jeter's lucky if he goes by the 5th round. that speaks for itself. even more so just by comparing those two numbers THIS YEAR..its not even close who's better. reyes.
if i was buidling a team..it would be hard to pick between these two. in all honesty i'd end up taking reyes because speed kills and you can't deny a guy who scores a 130 runs..hits 20 bombs and has almost a 100 rbi's BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY stole 60 bases (think about how many runs that created) and..as a bonus hit 300 hun. ALL FROM THE FREAKING LEAD OFF SPOT. i'm sorry..but those ARE NUMBER 3 HITTER NUMBERS.

ok. derek jeter is a LEGEND. jose reyes is good, but can he keep this up for 10+ years? I guess we'll just have to wait and see. But for now, Jeter is not only better than reyes; he's arguably the best SS in the game today.I think at the current time it is a tad premature to compare the two because of the difference in experience between the two. If you were to ask right now who will be considered better once they both retire I would probably give an extremely slight edge to Jeter merely because of his post season numbers and his ability to get the clutch hit in big games. That is something which Reyes really hasn't gotten a chance to show. However, as Reyes gets a few more years under his belt and being as the Mets seem like they could be a contender for a while, he will certainly get some opportunities which could enable him to become better than Jeter.
I will take Reyes. I am a yankee fan, but Jeter is getting a little old, and Reyes is young and the future of the game.

Overall? Jeter. He's got RINGS!! Met fans just don't seem to understand this. He's one of the most clutch players in the history of sports. This is a feet Reyes has yet to accomplish, and until this, i cannot compare Reyes and what he's done so far to Jeter's already established career and reputation. Reyes however, is a great talent as well... strong arm and good glove at short, and he's a good hitter and is very speedy as well as a good baserunner. If ur talking about just pure talent... i would begin to lean towards Reyes, but i'm not sure.Is a 32" catcher's mitt too small for high school baseball?
How can Reyes be better than Jeter.. Jeter has World Series rings and gold gloves. He is close to a .300 hitter lifetime. He doesn't put up impressive power numbers, but he has helped his team to 10 straight playoff appearances.. In time Reyes might be the main man in NY , but until his resume looks like jeters , he'll have to take a back seat.Why is tori hunter wearing #42 and not 48?
Reyes is a 4 1/2 tool guy. He is a better hitter, better defender, better baserunner, has a stronger arm and right now is equal in power (although he is young and will probably develop in this area as well).Jeter is probably a better leader and has been consistantly above average for his entire career.

I don't like the Mets or Yankees, I'm a Cardinals fan and at this moment in their careers, I would take Jose Reyes over Jeter because he can do everything. He is such a valuable lead-off guy and has been compared to the greatest lead-off hitter arguably ever in Rickey Henderson. Speed, hit for average, some power...that's hard to find.
That's not a knock on Jeter, either though because he's an outstanding player and would be a great asset to any team. He has amazing instincts that aren't in stats.

Right now, I'd pick Reyes, only because he's younger. They are two different players. Sure, Reyes has more speed and more range now, but Jeter is still a more complete player overall. Reyes is more dynamic, as he's 9 years younger, but it's hard to argue with Jeter who has a .317 career BA and will exceed 3000 hits.As for the genius who says Jeter is a fake, when was the last time you saw Jeter show up an opponent? The guy treats everyone with respect. He makes plays look harder than they are? He had nowhere to go when he caught that ball against Boston.Maybe he was close to catching it in fair territory, but how many players catch the ball then stop dead in their tracks when they are on the run?
