Why do the giants get on a major win streak (8 games) and then get swept?

Its part of what makes baseball so great. Any team can win against anyone else on a given day. If the pitcher is throwing exceptionally well or the offense happens to click anything can happen. Come on Kansas City swept the Red Sox at one point last year...it happens all the time. One bad game can ruin a winning streak and send a team into a spiral that they can't get out of. Baseball is a funny game that way, which is why so many of us can't get enough of it.

the giants win and loose games because of thier relief pitching. The Starting piching usually gets the job done and when they hand the ball over to the pen its up in the air sometimes the pen is un-stoppable and sometimes they cant get anybody out.

it was bound to happen. starting pitching is solid, with a very good 1-2 punch with zito and cain. bullpen is shaky, being composed of mostly youngsters, will cause you to lose the game. i think the only vets are kline chulk. benitez, well even if he is 7/7 he's still shaky, walks a lot and gets behind in the count a lot. i still cant depend on him. i think the 8 games were luck. how can we win when half our lineup doesnt produce? roberts and vizquel have low OBAs, especially for a leadoff hitters, while the bottom half never produces, namely winn and feliz. sure winn is hot right now, but i dont think itll last. the heart of our lineup is pretty solid with aurilia, bonds, durham and molina. you cant win with just half the lineup. im amazed we got 8 wins. we lost one of the games due to poor relief pitching, the other two to no clutch hitting. one game i remember it was something like 2 outs with runners on second and third, and durham grounded out. he had three chances in that game with similar scenarios! the most recent was just no sac flies, plain and simple. whew, glad u asked that question, had to get that all off my chest.

idk you might have to ask them...lol but it is pretty weird!! they might just go into a slump sometimes! But they should be better than that!
