With no one on base, a pitcher records a strikeout. Why is 1st base not included in the around the horn toss?

Question:It's always catcher to 3rd to short to second to third back to the pitcher but never to first.

cuz on a groundball in the infield... normally the first basemen won't have to make a throw when hit to him... or not much of a throw at all... it keeps the 3B, 2B, and SS arms loose and ready to make a throw.
