For high school that's pretty good. Being a Varcity Pitcher, I only average around 63 mph.Does anyone else think that Jackie Robinson day is hypocritical?
A full ride is hard to get, as a pitcher you will need to be in the 90's. Just play to have fun and see what happens, you always play your best when you enjoy the game. Good luck, hope to see you in the big leagues.Who hit the very first home to run in Toronto Blue Jays history?
I am a sophmore pitching on varsity. I throw in the low 80's. If you are 13 and can hit 80, you are on the right track. You have to remember however, that speed is not everything. In highschool, a good fast ball will not usually get the job done...especially on varsity. It takes a good offspeed pitch or two, combined with good control to make a GREAT pitcher. How do I hit anywhere on the feild, mainly to right field.?
speed doesnt matter but that is very fast. Be sure not to throw your arm out and give it plenty of rest. The speed is pointless if you have no control. Also you might need to work on getting something other then a fast ball if you havent already. If you don't improve both your spelling and your grammar, it won't matter.
Pitching isn't about speed. Pitching is about having command and control of your pitches as you get your pitches to move to and through the strike zone.
Watch any game by Greg Maddox, and you'll see pitching, real pitching. But if the man gets the ball to the mid-80's, he's overthrowing.
