What are the possible reasons to bunt with nobody on base?

Someone very fast can actually get on base by bunting; especially if it is a surprise. Also, if a player tries to lay down a bunt every once in a while - it tends to pull the infield in. If that happens the 3rd baseman has to charge in, pick up the ball bare-handed and make a quick throw to first.You take the risk of being thrown out at first, however you also have the chance of beating the throw, and/or having the 3rd baseman throw wild, in which case even if that doesn't get you down to second base, it can with the other team's psyche and can open the door for a big inning.
You bunt with no one on to get a base hit. It's becoming a lost art. Ichiro Suzuki and Juan Pierre are two of the best at bunting for base hits. Even when the first and third basemen are in, they can still get bunt hits.
