Should the Yankees sign Fidel Castro of Cuba if they can't get Clemens?
As long as there is no foreign substance on the ball then any pitch is legal.a gyro ball is nothing but a change up all it does is go slow and drop at the end, just like a circle change or a slow sinker.
No, the gyro pitch is a legal, if it exists...I would love to see Matsuzaka throw it at this years all star game against barry Bonds
It's a slider that doesn't "slide". It's only effective if the pitcher has a good slider. The batter sees the tale-tell red dot from the spin of the laces, expects a break, and is fooled. Old time pitchers call it a backup slider.
What pitcher won 3 consecutive triple crowns?
I think that if he is using it, maybe he shouldn't since his ERA is 4.80 and it's obviously not working. When was the last time the Indians won the world series??
The gyroball is legal but it is not a pitch. It is just as pitch that off the pitchers hand looks like a slider but does not break. This pitch is effective with pitchers like Matzuzaka who have great sliders, but if someone who didnt have a great slider tried to throw it, it would only be a hanging breaking ball that would be crushed. Why does a pitcher need to throw any pitches if he is issuing an intentional walk?
Matsuzaka doesnt throw the Gyro Ball. The only players in MLB who actually throw it are Pedro Martinez and Johna Santana.Does any one have any tips on pitching?
There is no true gyro ball, well at least as people believe, their is a myth that the gyro ball is this funky pitch that darts away from a batter and all l sorts of rumors about this super human pitch basically. The gyro ball that Dice-K throws is nothing more than a change up. It is a legal pitch but you hear more people talking about this myth pitch that people believe exists but does not.More Questions & Answers...
