Johan Santana.Santana for sure. Oswalt is a great pitcher, but he works in the National League and benefits from softer hitting lineups, and the pitcher in the #9 slot.
I don't think Roy Oswalt would enjoy having the pitcher replaced by David Ortiz, Travis Haffner or Jason Giambi.
Santana deals with that, and still puts up better numbers than Oswalt year after year.

Roy-O!... He's got a lower career ERA (3.04 vs. 3.21for Santana)... That's saying a lot considering he pitches in one of the most hitter-friendly stadiums in the major leagues... In addition... Oswalt has been a 20 game winner twice in his career. Johan has only accomplished it once. Let's look at wins for a career: Oswalt- 98-47 vs. Santana- 79-31 Now, you could argue that Johan has more K's... BUT, he's also been around a year longer than Oswalt (which makes Oswalt's wins look that much more impressive). Also... Oswalt has pitched in the World Series. It's just a shame he doesn't have a Cy Young yet... But, you can't blame him for the voters stupidity. He'll have one or more before his career is over. He is hands down the best pitcher in the N.L. right now.We wanna talk about the N.L. and the lack of D.H.?. well, Oswalt wouldn't have any problem making short work of any D.H. and as for hitting... I can guarantee Oswalt has more homers than Santana... Even if it is only 1!

Santana without question. First, he's left-handed. Second, he's done it in the American League against DH"s and deeper lineups. Oswalt has been okay, but may not even be the best pitcher in his league- although if Carpenter is hurt he moves up the ladder. I'd rather have Brandon Webb than Oswalt.Johan Santana!
