Why Japanese pitcher has pinpoint control?

Question:

Answers:

For those who were watching the Red Sox , Yankee Game...?

There are a few reasons.

1. The work ethic of Japanese pitchers is unreal. While they pitch on an extra day's rest as compared to the US, they do a LOT more throwing in between starts.

2. The baseball used in Japan is a little smaller. That makes it easier to grip.

3. The game philosophy itself is different. In the US, most pitchers want to be the strike-out-the-side types. In Japan with the emphasis on team over the individual, pitchers worry less about individual accomplishments if it advances the team's goal.
