Why do some people say Mark McGwire took steroids but Barry Bonds didnt take them?
Question:A. Because Barry Bonds took HGH
B. Because Jose Canseco documented McGwire's steroid usage, but there is no concrete proof against Bonds.
C. Because Bonds didnt need steroids to perform.
D. Because Bonds bones grew bigger, so it cant possibly be steroids. Steroids only work on muscles.
E. Because Bonds took the cream, while McGwire took the clear.

because he was black and nobody wants to offend african-americans anymore after the Imus debacle. Is it harder for a MBL team to win on the road compared to professional Basketball or football?
they both took steroids..many many ball players have do and will, what mark mcgwire took was legal at the time in baseball, bonds has no evidence against him and he is innocent untill PROVEN GUILTY...even though he probably didFavorite baseball teams anyone?
Skin color DUHH!!! You can say anything to a white person and nothing happens, but if you say ANYTHING to a black person GET READY! Take this for example, they have a tv station BET right? What if a bunch of white people made one called WET? That would be racism!I was just wondering how many teams does Cy Young hold the victory total record?
If this is a multiple choice question I would have to go with B. However, I might have a point for each thing.A - Never happened, HGH was a whole different issue regarding Jason Grimsley and other pitchers.
B - Canseco said he himself injected McGwire, he also stated he didn't know if Bonds took steroids or not but wouldn't put it past him to do so.
C - Maybe true, there is no hard proof he took them, though there is much speculation (and accusation).
D - Never heard this one before, but I can say this...it is stupid when I see those articles about Bonds head growing when they show a far picture of Bonds with a cap on saying that was him "before steroids", then show a close up of Bonds' head with no cap and said "after 'alleged' steroid use".
E - I believe Bonds stated he took the cream and the clear, and it was Sheffield who said he only took the cream.
If McGwire did take steroids, it was not illegal when he did so. If Bonds did steroids, him too wouldn't have been illegal when he was first accused of using them. It's all a matter of speculation, if Bonds was not chasing the HR record, this whole steroid debacle wouldn't be so serious.
For me there is no hard proof either truely did steroids. McGwire did admit to using amphetamines (I think it was), or some kind of performance enhancer. Bonds he may or may not have, maybe he went the route of McGwire and just took a different kind of performance enhancer, we probably won't know until a long time from now. (Note: Bonds has never failed any of those tests -- as reported by Bud Selig)
I NEED help and have a BIG DECISISION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
im gonna have to go with the fact that steroids dont make you a better ballplayer they inhance your strength. I know a couple of people who have taken roids and will never be able to hit a baseball. if you seriously believe that the roids made anyone a better ball player you've got to be the most ignorant person aliveWhat is alex rodriguez lifetime batting average?
to hp g or whateva that dumbass name is who answered first this debate happened way be4 imus did.ppl say mcgwire must have took them because of how he acted in front of congress. if you're gonna act like you're guilty ppl are gonna treat you like you're guilty.
canseco said he injected mcgwire himself and most of the ppl canseco said used roids turned out to be true.
bonds was a half of famer be4 hittin all these homeruns. he was a 20-20, 30-30, 40-40 guy. remember that. the only 40-40 guy i think. maybe he didnt even take roids maybe he decided to get bigger since he was gettin older and needed power since he was losing his speed. anyone ever think of that.
bones stop growing at some point and when you're 40 theres no way they can grow. for a guy i thnk it stops meaning bone growing at like 21 or so.
i think both of these guys bonds and mcgwire took roids but no one will know until both are proven guilty.
Who thinks the Cubs will og all the way?
Because they are in denialWho is this rogar clemmons guy? is he like the oldest rookie ever?
It should be clarified that steroids were legal only under certain circumstances. They had to be doctor prescribed and doctored administered. To say they were 'always legal in the court of law' is misleading as you seem to imply for a player to have them and use them as he saw fit was perfectly fine. It was not and is not the case.Further, I will have to respectfully step outside that predetermined set of answers you delineated. I think it is very difficult to put steroid use past any player from that era, especially those targeted by the Congressional probe. Where McGwire and Bonds specifically are concerned, to blame one and not the other is only playing favorites.
Further, to say there is 'no concrete proof against Bonds,' is fair only so far as how you define 'concrete.' I'm assuming you mean 'he's never failed a drug test.' But of all the players under suspicion who have yet to test positive, Bonds, contrary to what you suggest, has the most evidence against him, plenty of which is detailed in 'Game of Shadows' by Williams and Fainaru-Wada. The journalistic integrity of these authors is clear in all the work they have done over the course of their respective careers. That neither was slapped with a law suit following the release of this book is taken by some as a quiet admission of the truth of their work by Bonds. Were any piece of it a trumped up, baseless attack, Bonds would have been in the right to sue. But he never legally challenged any of the accusations. Why?
So to get back to your question, I can only figure people set up Big Mac over Barry or vice versa as inncoent due to their attachments to the players. Sure, neither failed a test but, as you pointed out, they enjoyed playing during MLB's well documented lack of attention to sudden, unnatural bulking up of the players. To think that either of these players is now and has always been clear in light of what we now know is naive.
Is Barrys Bonds'challenge to Hank Aaron's record still legitimate?
they are both on the juiceNeed help with post collegiate sport depression.?
The biggest challenge for me is how bad McGuire looked in his testimony to the grand jury. He looked like a child who got his hand caught in the cookie jar and that makes him look bad.In Bonds situation...regardless of how the "circumstantial evidence" looks, he has been steadfast in the fact that he did not use anything "knowingly". He has not had any actions to contradict that.
In either case nothing has been verified...Baseball players have been "pushing the envelope" of rule "bending" since the beginning of time (see spitballs, emery boards, corked bats, baseballs kept in the freezer so they do not fly, dome air conditioning blowing in while the opponent is batting..etc.). If now one can prove that every pitcher/opponents did not "rule bend" in their effort to get Barry or Mark out, then I see every home run as legit...nuff said.
