Why do the Pittsburgh Pirates almost always play interleague 3-game and 4-game series?
My opinion: Bob Feller, Sandy Koufax, Nolan Ryan, Bob Gibson, Don Drysdale. Why are the Tampa Bay Devil Rays keep starting Jackson, Fossum and Seo?
Clemens, Ryan, Drysdale, Gibson, Johnson to name a fewWhat is the record for the lowest attendance ever at a Minnesota Twins game in the Metrodome?
Nolan RyanWalter "Big Train" Johnson
Bob Gibson
Smokey Joe Wood
Roger Clemens
...in that order. Others of note, Ron Guidry, Sandy Koufax, Randy Johnson, Dwight Gooden, Bob "Rapid Robert" Feller, Satchel Paige, Tom Seaver. Of course, the thing that usually makes these guys so great is that they often have a great breaking ball, like Gooden's curve. That's why I won't list Rivera here. Rivera can really dial it up with his cutter, but let's see him get outs for 5 innings without anything but that cutter and that 4 seamer. Or get 7 no-no's like the Ryan Express. 20 strikeouts in a game? Rivera is fast, but there are plenty of guys faster, like 2 of them on the Tiggers staff that I can think of off hand.

5. Pete Alexander Awesome in his era
6. Walter Johnson Another great older pitcher
7. Satchel Paige Once struck out some of the games greats in a ML Negro league all star game
8. Mariano Rivera Shuts them down constant
9. Randy Johnson Remember the AS game when he scared Kruk with his fastball?
10. Bob Feller Watch the film of him throwing against a moving motorcycle.
There are others worth being on the list but these are my choices. Hated leaving Cy Young off of it.
Nolan Ryan
Doc Gooden
Roger Clemens
Pedro Martinez
Randy Johnson
Why doensn't my curveball break?
No doubt it must beWalter Johnson
Cy Young
Nolan Ryan
Roger Clemens
Satchel Paige
All were absolutley dominate when they pitched. What made Walter Johnson and Cy Young my top two would be that they pitched in a time period (dead ball era) where they would pitch on 2 or 3 days rest. And to add to this the balls they used were rarely changed and were aloud to be spit on, rubbed, scrathed, and basically any other forms of doctoring that can add lots of unneccessary moisture and weight to the ball. The only recent nominee to my list is the Rocket. Last year at the tender age of 43 he was still throwing his classic 94 mph fastball. And the last one is Satchel Paige. Incredible. It is a shame that this legend was banned from playing in the Majors until his last few playing years. He once demonstrated his control and speed by striking out the famed Negro League catcher Josh Gibson using 3 bubble gum wrappers as home plate. This could be a myth, or a wonder of the world.
