Should Joe Torre be fired after a bad April?

Question:Normally the Yankees are the best team in baseball (no thanks to their enormous bank account). But this April was really bad, they are in last place, and the blame is on Joe Torre. Should he be fired for this bad start?

Do you think the revenue sharing system baseball has now is working?

No, not at all, it is not his fault if anyone should be fired it is the GM Brian Cashman who ignored the Yankees need for pitching in the offseason. The Yankees are losing because they have had a number of key injuries to an already weak pitching staff and their bullpen has to the worst in the league, their bullpen has blown a number of games late that the starters have had them in a position to winl, also Mariano rivera has had a rought first month. none of this is Torre's fault, if he does get fired he is just a scapegoat and the team will lose even more, Torre is a great coach and none of the first month was his fault.

Who's the greatest hitter ever in baseball?

No... it's not his fault that his pitching staff is on the DL. It is not his fault that most of the players on his team can't a whale at the moment. He is the coach, he can't go out there and pitch/catch/bat for them. He sends the best available team out to play every night and that's all he can do.

How exectly are u supposed to stand to bat in baseball/softball?

Let me see..11 seasons, 11 playoff appearances, 10 divisional titles, 6 American League Pennants, 4 World Championships....Yes, by all means, let's fire the bum!!

Who was better willie, mickey or the duke?

The Yankees usually aren't a fast starting team. I'd say right now, only 25 games into the season, it's too early, but the pressure is definitely on.

In a baseball pool i have the New York Yankee's as pitcher. Should i give them a chance or drop them?

There is no reason to fire somebody that gets you to the postseason every year. If you can find another coach with his crudentials and bring him in to replace Torre then by all means go ahead. But finding one is the problem.

Who was better in their Prime: Bonds or Sosa?

no I don't think that joe torre shouldn't be fire because first the weather was bad and the player don't play well in the cold that one factor plus all of the injury that the yankee have to go threw it just bad month as a the weather get warm and player get healthy I think the new york yankee will start to heat up.

When are the next crop of young gunz gonna come up to the big leagues in baseball, such as brandon wood?

Isn't having to wear a Yankee uniform punishment enough?

How much are the yankees paying roger clemens for this season?

I never understood why the managers are the first to be blamed. Never the injuries to key players (Mussina, Pavano, Wang, etc.). Never slumping hitters. It is one thing if the coach is making bad decisions, but he is putting great players out there. Not only that, but if he was fired, i'm sure another team would fire their manager just so they could hire him!

Should they let john lester for the red sox start in a majors game this year?

Yes, of course. However, the April in question should be no sooner than the one scheduled to appear in 2018.

Torre hasn't gotten dumber since 1998 or 2000 or 2003. He's got a hospital ward for a roster and his pitching staff can't find the strike zone with printed directions and GPS.

Firing Torre would be solving the wrong problem. Now, I don't care if the Yankees win or lose, so go ahead, but it won't help much (if at all) and would be doing something just for the sake of doing something. That's not a worthwhile plan.

10 Points Tuesday's Red Sox-Yank Game (quick)?

I'm a huge Yankee fan and a Joe Torre fan, but it's time to face the facts.Joe Torre had an amazing run, but it's over and it's time to move on. He shouldn't be fired soley for a bad April, he should be fired for countless bone-headed decisions since playing the infield in with one out, men on 1st and 3rd in the 9th inning of Game 7 of the 2001 World Series. Ever since then he's made bad decision after bad decision. Torre is a Hall of Fame Manager and will always be remembered as one of the Great Yankees, but his time has passed.

If josh hancock was drunk?

WHY is the blame on Joe Torre?? His pitching staff has been decimated with almost all in the rotation on the disabled list. I mean HE did not injure them, so how can he be at fault?? Given the talent needed, Torre has done quite well over the years with the Yankees. Now a bump in the road should get him fired?? Get a life!!

Chow!!

Where can i get my baseball glove fixed?

He shouldn't be fired because of April - he should be fired because he's not a particularly good manager.

What should baseball do about so much inferior talent in the league?

Yes.

Joe Torre has managed the Yankees to countless playoffs and World Series, because he has always had the best 9 players on the field that money can buy. I could manage a healthy Yankees team to the playoffs every year.

However, it would take a good coach to get a team that has some injury problems to play well. I know they have lost essentially their entire pitching staff to the DL, but they are still supposed to have the best lineup in baseball.

Joe Torre is wasting his bullpen away, and it is just the beginning of the season. He needs to realize that there are injuries, but people will be back. Let the rookies have some bad games, but have them eat up innings so that you'll still have a bullpen in September. Karstens and Wright have pitched a combined 12 1/3 innings in 4 starts, that is about 3 innings per start.I don't care if they're giving up runs...if they are doing that poorly you need to pull them you are probably not going to win anyway, so let them pitch, and save the bullpen for when you actually have a chance of winning.
