How Can I Add At Least 10 Mph To My Baseball Pitch Within A Few Weaks?
NO NO NO & NO!!! I personally do not have it but I good friend of mine who travels for work frequently during the baseball season had it. When he was out of town and wanted to watch his hometown team, he was denied access on his laptop because the signal went through his computer and the computer thought he was here in Chicago and you cannot watch your citys' team. Plus the fact that the picture is so-so (major time delay) and sound is muffled. At that time his laptop was only months old so it wasn't that. I was given the opportunity to view it once to see what he was talking about and I was NOT impressed at all. One more drawback - he had a very hard time canceling the service. They just automatically charged his credit card that he had used the year before for the next year and was stuck with it for another whole season. He has, however, since terminating that service but only after repeated phone calls, a written letter and calling his credit card company to authorize them to deny the charge immediately. I would in no way, shape or form recommend this.Who was the pitcher and team that Pete Rose got his 18th hit off?
Contrary to what others have been saying I think it works fine. Maybe the others have connection problems or other computer problems. It's a neat feature and as long as your computer is "up to date" it is good. I started watching MLB.tv its first year when it was really cheap. Since then they've been upgrading it and the services seem to be better.I would say one thing though. I think it's neat but I would rather pay the same amount for MLB Extra Innings on cable. It's nice to have it on your computer but if you're not a huge traveler, it's better to just flip through channels and use your mini screen option to watch two games at once. In that respect, I would rather go with the cable service. Bottom line, if you want the features of MLB.tv, you should get it. I would. If you don't travel a lot though, forget it. Just get the cable service or wait for highlights.
What do you think is the hardest position in baseball, and why?
I don't know personally about MLB on the computer but I have had it on my TV since it's inception in my city. We love baseball so it is well worth it on the TV even though the blackouts can be a little annoying at times. Personally I'd rather watch a game on TV than on my computer.Actually I enjoy it. I live in VA and I don't get to see my Texas baseball teams(Rangers and Astros) on tv. Unfortunately all we get on tv here are the Nats and the Orioles. I don't care for either team. So it's nice to be able to see the Astros or Rangers games LIVE on the internet. The quality is great even if you make it full screen it still looks good. It's been a great way to keep track of rookie Hunter Pence. My brother and him are friends so it's nice to be able to keep track of his progress in the majors. Also it's great because I'm not just limited to watching certain teams.
Who replaced Cory Lidle in the Yankees team?
This is the 5th year that i've purchased the mlb.tv package, and I can somewhat agree with a little bit of what everyone is saying. Picture quality has increased this year, but only if youre willing to drop an additional $30. (It's $89.95 for the season for 400k quality, $119.95 for 700k) However, the extra innings deal on your TV is $160, so I personally would do that before I did the 700k. I get the 400k and it works fine for me. There have been times when my team is on TV and on the computer, so Ive checked to see the delay time, and it's only about 5 or 6 seconds. Also, as the first person mentioned, it only works if you are out of your teams market. For example, I live in the DC area but I follow the Pirates, as such, I can get all Pirates games, since they arent shown on local TV here. If I tried to pull a Nationals game up on the computer, I'd be SOL, as games that are broadcast within the region are blacked out from the mlb.tv package.
Another thing is the Saturday afternoon games. Usually there are 3 or 4 and your local fox station will choose which one to show. If your team is scheduled to play on Saturday afternoon, you wont be able to get the game on the computer, since its still considered a 'national broadcast', even if your local fox station doesnt pick that one for your area.
All in all, I think it's defintely worth the price. I've contacted customer service maybe twice throughout the 5 years I've had the service and they've been helpful. I can see how cancellation can be a problem once the season starts, because you pay for the service in advance, but each offseason they Email you about renewing the service, and give you details on how to cancel if you dont wish to automatically renew.
Also, at any point, you can access the MLB calendar and pull up any prior game from that season on demand. So if you're away for a weekend and your team plays a great game, you can go on Monday morning and rewatch it. It also gives you the option of clicking on each half inning, if you merely want to skip to the good parts. $90 for as many games as you want essentially? Personally it works for me, but I can't say its completely without its flaws.
Good luck.
