The most valuable Brave? Here's an unique perspective for an answer to that question: Bobby Cox. He brings with him an impressive resume, an ability to work with and help young players, and motivates the veterans. I'd say that if Cox is removed from the equation, the Braves are no better than the Toronto Blue Jays. As far as the Mets, it's clearly Jose Reyes. He is the catalyst of the team's offense. By far one of the most exciting players in baseball right now. For my team, the Pittsburgh Pirates, I don't think it would matter a whole lot if Jason Bay, Adam LaRoche, Freddy Sanchez, or Jack Wilson were removed from the line-up. They after all, are the Pirates...Who are the teams that you think are going to make the playoffs?
Andruw Jones because of offense and defense, Jose Reyes for everything he does, and Grady Sizemore for everything he does. The most valuable Brave. hrm...
So far this season, I'd have to say Chipper Jones. He's been pretty great, hasn't he?
For the Mets, gotta say Jose Reyes. I guess we'll see just how valuable he is if he's really hurt.
And for my team, the Yanks... always Mariano Rivera. I think their current struggles and lack of swagger stem largely from the fact that he's been so ineffective early in the season.
He's been their most valuable player since he became the closer in 1997.
