Everybody thinks the Yankees dominate New York but it's a myth. The Yankees own the back page of the daily papers because Steinbrenner was a blowhard for years (he's mellowed a bit lately). But as for fan base, the Mets have as many, if not more, fans in NYC. They just don't go to games as much, and I can't blame them. Shea Stadium is a hellhole.

I cannot attest for New York or Chicago. I reside in the Los Angeles area and I will say that a good number of fans that say they foot for the Halos or Blue Crew are fickle. One moment they are rooting for the Dodgers and another moment they are for the Angels. I am sure elsewhere in this country, people in areas with cross-town or cross-state rivals are more loyal to a certain team and thats that.More Questions & Answers...
