Am I the only Blue Jays fan on YA?

Depends on who we are talking about:

12 year old kid: fastball. Just learn how to throw it accurately and with some motion. Pick up the 4 seamer and 2 seamer. It will get you far and won't hurt your arm.

16 year old kid: Assuming you can throw a fastball, learn a changeup. Will get you far and won't hurt your arm.

18 year old kid: Maybe learn how to throw a breaking ball. Maybe. If your arm is ready for it.

20 something: a slider or other type of breaking ball.

20 something and washed up: go for the knuckle. If you can get the hang of it, you can ressurect your career.

I think the best pitch to master (besides a fastball) is a good change-up.

Tell me about a home run that you have experienced.?

A wiseguy answer? Master the STRIKE, first. But, I actually agree with my friend above - an excellent change-up will produce excellent results.

How important is the Manager in Professional Baseball?

A fastball. If you have a dominating fastball it's the toughest pitch to hit. If you were to ask a big league hitter they'd tell you the same thing. It doesn't have to be 100 mph either. If you can have full control of it that's all you need

Who do you think will win the game today: Oakland A's or the Yankees?

Its really not that much of a wiseguy answer. I would tell you whatever pitch you have enough confidence in to throw consistently for a first pitch strike is the one you need to master.

Pirates Fans... Are you a Stargell expert?

This is a hard question, because there are soo many pitches to pick from. It is pretty difficult to master a fastball just because it mostly relies on arm strength and deliverly. Also a good knuckleball is a tough to hit but also very hard to master and very easily shown by the pitcher in his release. To choose a pitch to master i would pick a slider or a curveball. Both pitches if thrown right appear to the batter as a fastballs, and then have a late unexpected break. Plus to have a good fastball and a nasty slider/curveball places the batter in one of the worst guessing situations he can be in at the plate.

THE VASELINE BALL!!!

For amateur baseball program in washington..?

There was so much positive written about Josh Hancock in the wake of his death...?

Change-up no question. Sustaining the same delivery while throwing a ball 10 miles an hour slower is extremely effective. Next time you watch a major league game notice what the pitcher throws in a 2-0 count. An offsped pitch, guaranteed.

What Do You Think About Jordans Furniture And the RED SOX??

If you want to "master" any pitch, make it a change-up. You can have a good fastball and an awesome change-up and you'll be set. Look at Johan Santana. Not the hardest or best of fastballs, but his change is near perfect.

What was the Cleveland Indians 2001 record?

It depends on the batter. Anything other then a straight up fast ball is good. A good change up at about even 80 mph would do really well with a 93 mph fastball. It all depends on how your fastball is to find out the best other pitch.
