When I was a pitcher, I didn't get any blisters. But, I got had a callous from throwing a lot before I started pitching competitively. Most of the time, it's the middle finger because it's the longest finger and on a fastball, it's the finger that releases last on the seam of the ball. Blisters come from any excessive rubbing on something that causes the skin to break. And that's how pitchers can get blisters. Most of the time, blisters come from fastballs and curve balls, but actually, they don't happen very often. It can depend on the player's finger, such as Josh Beckett of the Boston Red Sox, he probably has a soft skin that's more inviting for blisters than say someone who has a good hard skin. But it can happen to anybody.Does anyone besides me think that The Cubs have a ...?
friction from the different gripsMost overlook players of all-time?
well, lets see. a baseball has seams. And depending on what pitch a pitcher will throw, it will vary on the position and amount of seams, coming into contact with the fingers. a baseball is griped with the very tips of the fingers, unless throwing a change up and etc. As example a four seam fastball, two seam, and so on. And after a period of time with contact with the seams, the fingers if right handed is usually the middle one first, and yes all pitchers get them.friction from throwing causes blisters. the seams and the torque you put on the ball causes this friction
