all right kid here is some advise. i guess you could say that i come from a baseball family. i played college ball for the longhorns, ad my uncle is pete rose. so you say that you are behind, and that you are pulling your head. try and bite your shirt at your left shoulder. so when ever you swing you head has to stay with that left shoulder which it should. if you cheat you can feel your shirt rip out of your mouth. do that for 21 days. that is how long it takes to break a bad habit and re teach yourself. another thing is only do this at practice.when it comes to game time you have got to go up to the plate and just focus. i promise 21 days from now youwont pull your head any more. now as far as you being behind the ball, there are a few adjustments that you could make. one is slide to the back of the box. that way you have that extra tenth of a sec to pick the ball up. another thing is try and make contact with everything in front of the plate. so for example, when you get in the box draw an x right in front of the plate, and try to hit the ball right on the x every time. again only do this at practice, that is what it is for. when it comes to game time you jsu go up there and swing away. just remember kid dont get frustrated and the more you practice the better you are in the game. always remember when you are down on yourself about something, that baseball is a gameof failure! i mean think about it alex rodriguez or barry bonds are making hundreds of millions of dollars a year to get a hit 3 out of ten times. that means that they failed 7 out of ten times more than double what they hitHow do I get All Star game tickets in San Francisco this year?
im on a travel team and our coaches are top notch. most of them were in the pros so they know what theyre talking about. i used to hit for a lot of power, but recently it started decreasing. i told my coach this problem and he looked at my swing. he found a problem and gave me a solution that helped me and could probably help you. first, when you stride step make sure your weight is 50-50 on each foot. also, when you stride move your hands back a little bit. when the ball is about to cross homeplate and you start your swing, explode back and make your weight 25-75. make sure to rotate your hips too since you get most of your power from your hips. this will throw your hands forward increasing your bat speed. if you do this you will hit the ball harder than you ever have before. The trick is just getting a lot of at bats and as much BP as possible. Have faith that you will get your timing down. If you're good enough to bat 4th and be playing on a HS team, you're good enough to get your timing down eventually!
Does anyone have any cool pitches i could learn 2 throw?

Will the giants lose at least 100 games?
you just gotta get used to taking your stride earlier. it will come in time as you get stronger and can whip the bat faster. for now, move closer back (toward the catcher) in the box, choke up, or, just take the easy way out and go the otehr way. to right field if you're a right handed hitter. just think of throwing your hands at the ball. usually, the biggest, dumbest, slowest, most unathletic fielder plays right. so youve got a good chance of putting one between the second baseman and him.also, get a coach or someone to jsut throw you balls after practice. they'll be glad to help. practice practice practice.
oh, i can diss right fielders cuz i play right. but im also batting .400.
SF Giants fans!Who here hates Barry Zito already?
i made a real easy transition from the little diamond to the big field from middle school to high school. i play varsity for my team, so let me try to help you out.when i was in my last year in little league, i played on a travel team with older kids so i played both the big diamond and the small one.
for hitting, timing changes a lot. the distance is longer, so even if a kid is throwin 80 it still feels long. if your behind on the ball then you either have to recognize pitches faster or work on your hands and batspeed. i was always out in front, so i had a drill where my coach would throw me bp from second base. lols that was pretty weird. but it worked out for me. if you want to recognize pitches faster, go to the cages and hit the fast cages like 80 and have someone throw bp close to you. and no matter what you've got to get your batspeed up. batspeed kills when you get older. a guy might not have areally long swing but if he has a quick bat the ball just flies. so practice your swings daily.
and why dont you take a stride? you have to have some negative movement backward and bring the momentum forward. you cant hit staying in one position. it really doesnt work that way. being stationary does not help you any. agh i'll get back to you on this. this is a really long answer haha
