Yeah, he might be considered a bit of a jerk.although the giants are my second favorite team in the league (angels are #1, but they are very close), and bonds is one of my favorite players, he, at least earlier, just sort of shunned teammates and did his own thing. also, perhaps this cheering for a-rod might just be because if a-rod does hit more than 73, all the controversy starts to die down ( and accuse a-rod of steroids, jk). but GO GIANTS!!!!!!! I like Barry---and let's remember that when Babe Ruth was in his prime, alcohol was illegal. And Babe was, uh, a consumer...Let's celebrate Barry. He is really, really good, he fields his position well, awesome bat speed, draws walks---he just doesn't like reporters. Sometimes with abundant reason.

I don't watch baseball very much but i do read upon the news on what happens in sports. All this crap about people in sports using illegal sports enhancing drugs to get to the top is just really lame. As far as i'm concerned the dude new he took the drugs but just can't stand up and be a man and correct himself when he knows he screwed up. I wish sometime in professional sports that they would just say sorry for what they did. I would for sure understand and forgive what he did if did so but since he can't i don't believe he deserves any homerun record and anything else he has achieved. He's just setting an example to other sports players it's okay to take drugs as long as you can find a way not to get caught. You don't know what these kind of drugs can do to you in the long run and i sure don't want to find out. I play tennis and you can imagine that in such a sport like mine that you have to run back and forth for who knows how long in a match. You would think anyone of these professional tennis players would look for some kind of drug to keep them on top of the game too in such a grueling and tireing sport but you don't hear anything about that in that kind of sport. I'm just disappointed in such a likeable guy. Just really destroys his reputation i think. Yeah i think he's a Jerk and until he fesses up for what he did he'll always be a Jerk! Well Bonds is 10x better (in ability and personality) than Sosa or McGwire, so I'm glad he got the single season record. I never thought he was selfish, and the whole steroids issue is blown way out of proportion. It's not like he sucked and then steroids made him good *cough*mcgwire*cough*.he was always good.That being said, as a Yankee fan, I too am rooting for A-Rod to break the record. 100 HRs? Not likely, but one can dream. Regardless of his single-season numbers though, A-Rod is almost a lock to wind up with the all-time lead in HRs by the time he retires (barring a career-ending injury).

How does alcohol help you in baseball?When I was a kid growing up in Queens, NY my dad took me to as many Mets games as possible. Most of the time we sat in the upper deck. One time he managed to get tickets very close to visiting team dugout for a game vs. SF Giants. We got there early and I got to see BP. I even managed to get Bobby Bonds and Willie Mays to sign the same ball. Wow! was I thrilled!!
Now years later living in Vegas, a few years ago there was the "Big League Challenge" a pre-spring training HR hitting contest. Bonds was a competitor a couple of times. He refused to sign any autos during BP and wouldn't sit with the other players, hiding in clubhouse. After he was eliminated, I knew where the players came in and out. I went with my 5-year old son. We saw him leave, as I knew he would take off ASAP. I called to him," Mr. Bonds, your dad Bobby and Willie Mays signed this ball when I was a child. Could you please add your signature to it so I can pass it down to my son?
