Will Bonds break the record, or?

Question:Do you think he will break it, or do you think that when he gets close the pitchers in the league will just walk him, so he does not get it?

Answers:

Is It True?.if so who are the 3.?

Bonds will break the record without question. He's only a mere 15 homeruns from tying Aaron, and he's on a tear to start this year. As he gets closer, pitchers will begin to walk him more because they don't want to be the next Al Dowling, but you can't walk him everytime he steps up to the plate. Someone will have their name in the record book and all over tv, the only question is who will have that distinction.

Which major league baseball team conducts "the great pierogi race" during theur home games?

No he'll break the record. Some brave soul is gonna think he'll strikeout B squared and then be the 450th pitcher to surrender a HR.

What do you think about World Series games being scheduled for November?

He will tie the record and retire there on the spot just to piss everyone off. I hope he hits 74 home runs this year just to shut everyone of you Barry haters up. I am not a Giants fan, but for gods sake, shut up and watch your own team and worry about how they are doing.

At the Blue Jays game today why was it only the black players who wore Jackie Robinson's #42 on their shirts?

Of course he'll break it. He's too close not to unless he has a major career ending injury. For the all the hype A-Rod has had this year, Barry Bond is quietly having a super year with 6 home runs already and a .771 slugging persentage.

If Bonds had never hit 73 home runs in a season would we have ever questioned him?

He'll beat it. No team in there right mind will walk him time after time if they have the game on the line. He isn't the same threat he was when he was on the Juice or Juices. And then A-Rod will pass him sometime in the future and all will be right with the world. I'm not an A-Rod Lover or a Barry Hater but come on. Without the Juice he's nowhere close. I personally hope that A-Rod jacks 74 this year to shut everyone up and knock all of them McGwire, Sosa and Bonds down a notch.

Baseball card question?

he will break it. but the big question is will he make it in the hall of fame?

Tiger fans only...?

He will break the record. He only needs 15 to tie the record and 16 to break it with 23 weeks left in the season. I know they are going to walk him, but with those figures he could hit one a week or in some cases one every two weeks for a while and still get it.

I still don't understand why they walk him all the time. I know that they don't want to give up a lot of runs. But you would think that that pitcher and the manager would want to be the one to give Bonds the record. They are going to be just as much apart of the history as Bonds will be.

The only thing I have been thinking about is that they had better get a plan in place to get that ball back to Bonds. Everytime he goes for a record they have a big issue about the ball.

This may just be me. But I am not the one that played for over 20 years and hit all of those home runs. It is not my record and I think that ball means more to him than me. By the way you can keep up with the stats of Bond's home runs on the sports section on Yahoo.

Is there a need for baseball equipment in Russia?

I read an interesting take on a typical pitcher's approach to Barry. Barry will usually take on the first couple of pitches, especially if they are close to the edge of the strike zone. But once a pitcher has two strikes on him, this is where he earns (well at least some) of his pay. Pitchers will 'get comfortable', thinking they can get him out on a ball in play, or maybe even a strikeout. Due to the fact that he's been around the league forever (and thus seen more pitches than any of us can dream about), he'll either find something he likes to hit over the fence, or draw a walk.

I think that unless the walks are intentional, ie catcher standing off the plate, Barry will still get his fair share of pitches.
