i would compare them right now to the cardinals - horrible starting pitching, but health is the issue. (the cards cant score runs though, and that is where they would not quite compare). as soon as the yankees get mussina and company completely healthy, i think they will be a force. they will finish well, and that is what counts in everything! the cards compare to this because they need mulder and carpenter to come back - this might jumpstart the whole team. i know you didnt ask about the cardinals, but there are plenty of teams now who should be better with injury problems and other issues...i see the yankees and the cards both making the playoffs.What team did detroit beat to get in the world series.?
