Can you hit ball faster in slowpitch or fastpitch softball?
Question:Me and my frined are having an argument and we need to know.

Danny A may be correct in the fact that farther and more home runs are hit in slow pitch but he is incorrect in answering the question asked.When judging which CAN go futher, fast pitch IS the answer. The reason slow pitch is
"usually" hit farther and more often is simply because it is easier to hit it "more correctly". Newtons law states that their is an equal and opposite reaction but any force put onto a force in motion. Therefore, if one object is travaling at X(which would be higher) amount a speed and another object that is the exact same thing is traveling at Y(whice we will say is a lesser) amount of speed, the if they are bot hit exactly the same object traveling at Y amount of speed will go further. What makes Danny A's answer incorrect is that he is using uncontrolled conditions to get his answer. Not ever batter and/or pitcher is going to throw and/or hit exactly the same every time, let alone the same as the next person, but if everything is equal and replicated exactly, a fast moving ball will travel futher and faster than a ball moving slower.

There are people killed every year in slowpitch softball (usually pitchers). I wouldnt say it is impossible to hit a fast pitch faster than a slowpitch, but improbable. I am 8 time asa A class state champion softball player and I have seen balls hit off of bats that you couldnt even see until they were in the outfield. This is two or three times a game. I cant imagine anyone ever hitting one harder. Ask yourself this...If you go see 10 fast pitch games and 10 slow pitch games how many homeruns will you see in each? I would say in a class unlimited tourney you will see maybe 10 in fast pitch and probably 200 in slowpitch. then look at the distances..in fast pitch most homeruns barely get out 320 tops. In slow pitch you can witness balls hit over 400 feet all the time. How do they get 400 feet unless they have some speed behind them??? Slowpitch is the answer.More Questions & Answers...
