How many baseballs does a major league team use each year?
A breaking ball 'breaks' and curves, slides, etc. A change-up is just an off-speed pitch.most of time breaking pitch is strike. Change up is just like a sinker, sometimes it goes into the dirt
What is the best pitching book available? (baseball)?
the difference between a breaking ball and a change up is how its thrown. The breaking ball is thrown with a flick of the wrist. a change up is released just like you would a fastball , but its not thrown as hard.If the bases are loaded and the walk the batter does it counts as an RBI for that batter?
a breaking pitch ,slider, curve, sinker and fastball are all basically the same pitch, how you hold the baseball and the amount of wrist action makes them differ.a changeup, is just changing the speed of the ball
a breaking pitch is a curveball, slider, or a screwball. something that has alot of movement. a changeup is just changing the speed of the ball by using a loose grip on the ball. it will sometimes tail a little and drop too. by the way, a fastball is not a breaking pitch and a changeup is not a sinker in the dirt.
Any info on Satchel Paige's parents?
Simply put:a "breaking pitch" changes direction and a "change-up" changes speed.A "breaking pitch"is a pitch which essentially travels in 2 directions simultaneously;moving at a given speed from the pitcher's hand to the catcher's glove and, at the same time, either away from the batter or in towards him and in some cases rising up or dropping as it approaches the batter. Its value of deception based on the fact that the batter is largely unaware of the secondary movement of the ball until very late in the ball's delivery and approach, thereby fooling the batter into swinging at the pitch which is no longer where he presumes the ball to be or trying to gauge by the ball's motion or rotation where the ball will be when it comes into the hitting zone.A change-up,on the contrary,is an equally deceptive pitch but gets its value from the fact that by watching the pitcher's arm motion and speed and delivery, the pitch appears to be a fastball until late in the ball's delivery when it is shown to be moving much more slowly than originally thought and anticipated,in most cases leaving the hitter either flatfooted and unable to swing at the pitch and taking it for a strike or by being so far in front of the ball with his swing that the batter invariably misses the ball with his bat.More Questions & Answers...
