Who will win the AL Central?

Question:Detroit has the best overall team. The Indians hit better. The Sox have the best pitching staff. The Twins have the best pitcher (Santana), and the reigning MVP.

It's a no brainer that the winner of this division is the favorite to win the World Series, since this is the best division.

Can the Detroit Tigers succeed without Rogers and Zumaya?

You have just answered your own question!Pitching.Pitching.Pit... or later, and it is a very long season,Morneau,Hunter, and Cuddyer will start to hit.Like you say,Cleveland has no pitching at all.I think the Tigers will have a down year owing to all the excitement of last year coupled with all those very young pitchers(this is where the great managers earn their money and reputations by the way)Santana has started slow but does every year. And as goes Johan Santana,so go the Twins. This year to the world series,by the way.

Will the orioles even win 70 games this season?

I am a Cleveland fan so of course I will chose them. Detroit is their toughest competition. Like you said Cleveland has the offensive edge and right now they are pretty even in their rotation. But when Detroit gets Rogers and Zumaya back I give them the edge. Sabathia, Lee, Westbrook, Byrd, Carmona/Sowers with top prospect Adam Miller waiting vs. Bonderman, Maroth, Verlander, Rogers, Robertson. Any team would love to have those rotations. Detroit has a clear edge in the bullpen though. Both teams should win 95+ and whoever is second in the division will win the Wild Card. Both are playing well within their division. It will be fun to see how they match up when they play later this season. The ChiSox have some serious offensive issues they need to sort out, and Minnesota is digging itself in an early hole (though they seem to follow their leader Santana and always get stronger as the season progresses). It will be tough for them to leap the three teams in front of them (though two for the wild card might be possible).
I'm not sure I totally agree with the winner being the favorite to take the World Series (though I hope they do). The BoSox are looking pretty tough with a veteran team who has a lot of playoff experience. They are playing well right now also.

How for is it from home plate and the pitcers mound?

The Indians aren't even hitting yet and they are in first. They have an improved bullpen, they don't have enough room in their starting rotation for a guy that just beat Johan Santana 2 times this year, and the defense is improved. Not being biased, originally said the Twins would win it but from what I've seen so far I'm saying Tribe.

To bright person a few above me-how can you say the Indians have no pitching?Sure Tigers may be better but look at the rotation

Sabathia-Flat out stud,a true ace,one of the best in the game today.Lead league in CG,Shutouts in 2006(current record 6-1)

Lee-Just back form injury and a week ago pitched a 3 hitter.Along with Westbrook 1 of 4 pitchers to win at least 14 games every season since 2004.(current record 1-0)

Westbrook-On DL now but when he's on he's a groundball machine.Lead league in groundball % in 2006.current record 1-2)

Sowers-Struggeling now but was a star rookie last year. Had the best era after the all star break last year expect for a man named Clemens. Also lead the league in shutouts tied with Sabathia.(current record 0-3)

Byrd-Has been phenominal this year. Has around a 3 ERA and the Indians have scored little for him. He was only given 4 runs in 2 starts at a certin time span.(current record 3-1)

Carmona-See they don't even have room for him.He pitched a complete game 4 hitter shutout today beating Johan Santana,agian(2nd time this year, yes in the metrodome too).Sub 3 ERA might actually be sub 2 can't remember.(current record 5-1)

Adam Miller-Top prospect has absolutley dominated AAA and they dont have room for him. Was named top pitching prspect or somthing like that last year.

Bullpen-Nothing special but much, much better than last year.Slightly above average(Borowski has given up 10 of his 15 ER in 1.1 innings)

So you say they have no pitching? And you can"t deny the hitting.Watch out for the Tribe!

Yankees ticket plan?

Cleveland has the best starting pitching at the moment, once there hitting kicks in nobody will catch them.

Are the San Francisco giants going to be a good team this season or even in the future?

Oh gosh, no matter how much I would LOVE to say the Twins, I think the Indians are going to clinch it. Although the Twins may have a serious comeback, like they did last year, as of right now it looks like the Indians. But I'm rooting for the Twins!!

What is your ultimate 25 man roster of current MLB players?

Detroit. Barring further injuries, I think they're pretty close to a lock.

You are starting a team and you can only pick 1 player from each group.?
