What about the White Sox pitching?
Question:Everyone was all over the Sox for their offseason moves. Right now - the starting pitching has been great (like 2005). The bullpen has been solid. And the guy the Sox traded, McCarthy, is 1-3 with a 10.20 ERA, and Garcia has only pitched twice, and his velocity is even down further.
So the question is - are the Sox a playoff team, and will those who said that they would battle KC for the basement now admit that they were wrong?

Don't forget the fact that in John Dank's first 2 appearances, he got 1 run of support, and had he gotten any run support in either one of those he would have won.I believe the Sox will contend for the division crown and should at least grab the Wild Card barring any melt downs or serious injuries. Well, if Jenks gets it together. The bullpen is scaring me right now.

I agree with you. They have been real good, and now that bats are starting to heat up. After seeing them beat up Detroit over the weekend, I say they again might be the team to beat this year in the Central.

The Sox have good team era of 3.75 which is currently 9th best in the majors.You have to be pleased with that considering their division and the amount of runs those opposing teams in it can put up on any given night.
It's still a little early to say where they will place in such a tough division this early on.

I thought Ozzie was gonna choke Sisco last night when he couldn't throw a strike. Jenks scares me. He needs to really decide if he wants to dedicate himself to getting in shape. I figured early on that the key for the Sox would be the starters returning to their '05 form. They fell off in '06. Pitching gets it done. If Garland and Co. can revert to their '05 form, they can seriously challenge Detroit. If not, they don't have a chance.More Questions & Answers...
