Who will win Golden Glove?
Question:
Answers:
Torii Hunter, Gary Matthews Jr., Ichiro, Carl Crawford and Vernon Wells all have to be considered in the running for the outfield
Eric Chavez should win again at 3rd base, but Alex Rodriguez has won a gold glove before and is always a threat
Shortstop should be Derek Jeter again
2nd base is a toss up, could be Grudzielanek again, or maybe Robinson Cano or Brian Roberts could pick one up
1st Base will likely go to Teixeira again
Catcher should go to Ivan Rodriguez again, but Kenji Johjima and maybe A.J. Pierzynski could be dark horse canidates.
Pitcher will be Kenny Rogers again if he comes back healthy
In the National League,
OF- Carlos Beltran, Mike Cameron, Andruw Jones, Jim Edmonds(if healthy) and Jeff Francoeur could all have a chance to win NL gold glove honors
3B- Scott Rolen is the favorite if he is healthy, but its only a matter of time before Ryan Zimmerman and David Wright win Gold Gloves of their own.
SS- Omar Vizquel is the best defensive shortstop since Ozzie Smith and should win another Gold Glove, if Jose Reyes progresses in the field nearly as much as he has at the plate he should take one home eventually
2B- Orlando Hudson is th favorite to win another Gold Glove, but Adam kennedy and Dan Uggla are two other canidates
1B- So many possibilities here... Albert Pujols and Derrek Lee are to be considered the favorites, but several other players including Adam LaRoche, Todd Helton, and Adrian Gonzalez could win the award.
C- Should have been Yadier Molina last year but Brad Ausmus won. THis year i see it coming down to these two again with Molina on top this time
P- Greg Maddux...again
- What NL East team said hired 30-year-old rookie Chuck Smith?
Locks: Andruw Jones, Torii Hunter, Vernon Wells, carlos Beltran, Ichiro, Greg Maddux, Scott Rolen, Eric Chavez, Ivan Rodriguez, Derek Jeter, Omar Vizquel, and Orlando Hudson. On the bubble: Albert Pujols, Kenny Rodgers (will he get enough playing time?), Brad Ausmus, Mike Matheny, Mark Teixeira, Mark Lowell, Mark Grudzielanek.
2B Mark Ellis-last year he set the record for fielding% by a 2nd baseman with .99..% and LOST it to someone who hit for a higher avg. That is crazy...and No way is AROD in the same area code as Chavy at 3rd..
