Barry Bonds is hated everywhere but SF. Why aren't other Players who people think used roids as hated?
Other players like Giambi, Piazza, McGuire, Sosa arent hated the way Bonds is hated. If Bonds was white would he be as hated all over America?? He plays in the most accepting place in the United States. It seems like the Bay Area and many Black people across the country are the only Bonds fans.

I am a white man from missouri "home of the world champs" and very much a cardinal fan. Fisrt cardinal game i ever went to was in 79. Been a fan since. But barry bonds is my favorite player. Albert Pujols and Mark Mcgwire talents added together still cant hold a light to those of barry bonds. I think color has nothing to do with it, i think it is all ignorance related. If it was color or race why does pujols,a-rod, jeter and others have so many fans?? It is jealousy. Look at all the a-rod haters surfacing on this site all of a sudden, the steroid acquisations of him all of a sudden. When a player is good or doing good it makes others jealous of their performance and these idiots on this site are just certain team or player fans, not true baseball fans. Color has nothing to do with it. Bonds is known for his extremely surly attitude toward others, and his refusal to answer questions honestly. Take Sosa for a counter-example. He is dark-skinned like Bonds, but significantly more popular than the white McGwire.
I also question your inclusion of Mike Piazza in that list. Piazza has never put up monster power numbers like the others, and as far as I know, his name has never been linked to steroid use.

i'm in detroit and i love barry. there was a vicious rumor that the tigers were trying to sign him for one year as a DH before we traded for sheff. that would have been hot.barry never tested positive for steroids or hgh. and even in the years he was accused of using, baseball had no rule against it. you would have to believe during those years, alot of guys had to experiment with it once or twice.

Bonds is hated because he cheats and is a horrible, selfish, human being, not because he's black. Last time I looked, Hank Aaron, the man he's chasing, is black. I remember watching Aaron break Ruth's record on TV and cheering when it happened. It was a great baseball moment. Bonds beating Aaron will be a disgrace!!Mainly it's because of his personality. Personally, being a Phillies fan, I've always disliked Bonds because I thought he was a horse's rear, plus he played with the Pirates for several years back when the teams were pretty bitter rivals.
Bonds's skin color really has nothing to do with it. A lot of people disliked Lenny Dykstra (who retired in 1998, but was long suspected of steroid use) for many of the same reasons.

Black, white, brown, it doesn't matter what color he is. He's hated cuz of his attitude toward teammates(i.e. Jeff Kent), and that he's a cheater. Plus, it's possible that he might break the most celebrated record, homeruns, due to his cheating(steroid use). And you can't say that he didn't take steroids. People don't like Bonds because Bonds doesn't like the Media. A lot of people who have met him outside of the ballpark say that he's actually a pretty nice guy who will take the time to sign people's stuff. I think that he's pretty normal its just that he has a hatred for the Media and they play on that which causes a lot of other people to hate him as well. He never tested positive for a banned substance and should not have the asterisk by his name because the game has always been changing, Aaron and Ruth didn't have the workout regimes that players today have and that gives players of today an "unfair" advantage but there's no complaining about that. For other players, as long as they're not Bonds, the Media doesn't focus on them as much for being users. 1. Jason Giambi used for a short time and was man enough to admit it, and took his punishment like a man.2. Mike Piazza was never accused of using steroids. Not sure as to why he's on the list.
3. Mark McGwire isn't hated as much because he's retired and is not in the limelight of the public's eye. He got out before the you know what hit the fan. He is by far baseball's biggest cheater and coward. He used multiple "illegal substances" that was banned in every other sport know to man all but two years of his entire career. And when he was confronted by it he did not have the courage to admit it in front of Congress.
4. Sammy Sosa was never caught having done or using anything. That was all speculation. There is not one shred of proof that Sammy used at all. People just assumed he did because he was at the hearing with Congress. That's not to say he didn't use at some point. But you have to have proof in this country.
5. Barry Bonds "DID NOT" and I repeat "DID NOT" use any illegal substances during his career with the Pittsburgh Pirates period. He has stated under oath repeatedly that he did not. Had there been any proof of otherwise Barry Bonds would have been placed in jail for perjury-lying to a grand jury.
He did fully admit to using a cream like substance during the home run record season which was not an illegal substance at the time.
People need to stop being so damn naive and believing every single word that comes out of the mouth of the media bashing this man to no end. Bonds is no more or no less guilty than any of the short term users that baseball has dealt with in the past.

Piazza was never accused of using steroids, but Giambi, Sosa, and McGwire weren't hated as much as Bonds is because none of them are as successful as he is.
I can't say I like Bonds, but he hasn't ever really been caught so I can't just hate him for no reason. I actually wouldn't be surprised if someone just made the whole thing up just because he got a little fatter over the offseason.

I think your' making too much of the race aspect. Personally, I think Barry is one of the best ever. I'm sure that SOME people don't like him cause hes black, but he can be a prickly, overbearing guy.
