Is the new Twins statium a good idea?

What two teams would you like to see playing for the World Series this year?

This is one of the things that bothers me. This staduim is being built from tax dollars and is a product of eminent domain. Now don't get me wrong, I am a sports fan and I think that having a portion of the stadium being built out of tax dollars it is fine and can be seen as an investment as it will generate more tax dollars. My first problem is that this stadium is being built ENTIRELY out of tax problems. I've become more bitter on this topic ever since Cincinnati built a stadium on the backs of smokers through a cigarette tax and thanked them by not giving them anywhere to smoke in the entire stadium.
My second problem is that the land was taken by eminent domain, which if I'm not mistaken was created so that they could build vital arteries (rails and roads) that were necessary to us as a functioning society, not so it would be more convenient to catch a ball game. If the stadium had to go there the rich owners should have made the people who owned those properties offers they couldn't refuse. I mean, they aren't paying for the stadium...

Cubs fans on 99th year losing streak (please read, nothing mean in here)?

Pitching Machine?

yes

Are the yankees really the most valued team in the world?

Yes nothing better then going to see a baseball game on a nice sunny day in Minnesota

Why did the Red Sox wear Green uniforms tonight?

(Its stadium, lol) Yes, but they would have to go through the same thing the Marlins are going through, get rid of the team and save some green.

Detroit Tigers??

Yes, they are overdue for a real stadium that functions primarily for them and them alone.

At Wrigley Field, What is the best way to get autograph's?

No I don't think so you have to remember that in Minnisota winter is a long 8 months there. meaning what happened in Cleveland earlier this year can and probably will happen to them.

Who's the best baseball pitcher of the modern era? I say Koufax!?

If it had a retractable roof, it would be.

Anyone see angels-red sox today?

yes, the state is also currently building a new Gophers football stadium and the cost of a retractable roof would not pass. Besides, if they cannot play at the new twins ballpark they can still use the metrodome as a backup site. Besides, heavy snowfalls like that are rare in the Twin cities as there is no lake effect snow. The field will be heated to melt the snow if it does fall. (have you ever seen Lambeau field snowed in? they have a similar system, other than the ice bowl when the old one failed) The metrodome is not a good baseball stadium at all. The Twins will be much better served in their new ballpark.
Besides, if you are used to cold weather it can work in your favor when warm weather teams come to town. Besides, we are only talking about april, one month of the entire season, and it isn't always cold like it was this year.

Does the DH have to hit for the pitcher, does it say he'll take the pitcher's spot only.?

Its a good idea for the Twins to get a new stadium, but they need a retractable roof. If the stadium is built without a retractable roof they will be wanting a new stadium in 10 years. It will be nice in the summer, but the novelty will wear off and it will be hard to draw fans in April and May without a retractable.

Is it time to even the playing field between hitting and pitching in MLB?

Do the yan-kees have a 3000 hits player,team leader?

Will Shea Stadium be demolished after Citi Field is built?

Yes it is a good idea, but you have to remember that Minnesota is not exactly warm and sunny year round. I think that they need a new stadium, but I think it also needs to have a retractable roof in case of bad weather (which honestly happens a lot in Minnesota). MLB needs to have some domed and warm weather locations to start the season, and I think all of the weather cancellations and early season double headers is good proof of that.

In a baseball game with 3 teams please illustrate how I can determine the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placers.?

Yankees fans: What particular area of the team do you think is weakest?

yes. that dome stinks...hate when balls hit the ceiling..

How many times in baseball has a team gone from winning the world series in 1 year to the next year in last?

If it gets them more revenue with luxuray boxes its good. As much as I hate domes I think it is stupid that it is not at least a retractable roof. It will be might cold up there in Oct and April

Whats up with you redsox fans?

Yes and no. They need a stadium desperately, the Metrodome has been outdated for years, but an open-air stadium in Minnesota is a bad idea. A retractable roof would be nice, but the cost for those is much higher than open-air. I think the main idea here is to try to find a viable plan without spending a huge amount of tax dollars. The owners of the team should have to pony up a large chunk of the money with the tax burden being a lot less. In this day and age it almost has to be a retractable roof (look at Cleveland) but the tax payers don't seem to want to support that big of an expense. I would say that they should votet this proposal down and demand that the owners make up the difference to build a retractable roof. I don't think this is going to happen unless the team is sold though. Good luck Twin Cities...

Who was the red sox captin before Jason Varitek?

Yes. They have a very young and talented ball club and they now better time than now to get them in a new stadium to attract new fans to the game.

This is very good timing for them.
