What's up with this quote from ichiro?
Question:Once I turn 40," he says, "I can become a pitcher. I'm kind of serious about it. But I'll have to learn to throw a knuckleball. Right now, I could be a 'normal' pitcher," who can top out at 95 mph with a fastball.
So what do you guys think? Has Ichiro lost his mind, or do you think he is for real and might make an attempt?
Answers:
Who are the probable pitchers for todays Red Sox vs. Blue Jays game. 4-18-07?
He could be serious. The knuckleball puts very little strain on a pitcher's arm. Many k-ball pitchers have pitched well into their 40s to late 40s. Such as Phil Niekro, Hoyt Wilhelm and Tim Wakefield.Ichiro's greatest skill is his speed and by 40 he probably will have slowed down to a snails pace. Becoming a knuckleball hurler could be a very real option to prolong his career.
How good has Rich Hill of the Cubs looked?
ichiro sucksWhat's happening to the Twins!?!?

ichiro can speak english? How will the 2007 Freddy Sanchez compare to the 2006 Freddy Sanchez when all is said and done?
He's nuts. What baseball player turns 40 and goes from a field postion to a pitcher and throws 95 mph? He can't even throw 95 mph from centerfield to home plate. Maybe 70 mph tops.Michael jordan rookie whitesox baseball card?
Ichiro is quite modest. So he never speaks English infront of interviewer beacause he wants to tell What he wants to say direcrtly. So there is always a translator around him.I think he wont be a pitcher in the future.
Is there batting practice following a night game for a day game?
I think that he could be a major league pitcher with a year or two in the minors.Have you seen some of his throws from right field?
He would be a media magnet! Imagine him dh'ing for most of the game and then coming in to pitch in the end of the game. It would be like Babe Ruth in the late 1910's!
By the way, the interview was done with a translator.
