I wanted to say someone else besides Babe Ruth, but nobody hit AND pitched like he did. Pitchers don't practice hitting these days, but Ruth had ridiculous stats in both categories.derek jeter hes sooo cute! but hes awsome in base ball as well

Anybody that says anything but Babe Ruth doesn't understand the game.Do the Yankees and Mets play in the same stadium?
Babe Ruth.Would have made the hall of fame as a pitcher too.He did all of his stuff in the dead ball and pre-steroid era. When Babe Ruth came up with the Red Sox, he was a pitcher. And a darn good one. But he hit so well that on his off days the Red Sox put him in right field so he could hit. And when the Red Sox traded him to the Yankees, the Yankees decided to have him play right field only. What a loss. He could have been a Hall-of-Famer as a pitcher and outfielder.
What about having Instant Replay in Baseball?
I would have to say babe ruth, just because he had a full career. If Roberto Clemente had a full career, he would easily be the best player ever. look at his stats and see how amazing he was in a shortened career. he is easily seocnd best to ruth.Is julio still florida's closer?

Babe RuthWhat is Better for baseball a lot of offense or great pitching?
All i am seeing is Babe Ruth. Are you guys forgetting about Mantle, Aaron, and Fergie Jenkins. But of all of those the best is Ted Williams. .400 average longest hit streak ever. The greatest player ever in baserunning, fielding, and hitting is clearly Ted WilliamsIf you caught a home run ball hit by the opposing team, what would you do?
Babe Ruth. He pitched from 1914-1919 and went 94-46 with a WHIP around 1.20. He only hit 49 homers during that time. He would have hit over 800 HR's if he didn't pitch those years. And he didn't have to take steroids, just hot dogs, beer, and cigars.Where's a good site to blog about the Atlanta Braves?
cmon man there are lot of awesome players but Johan Santana rocks do you see how he strikes em out? hes the best pitcher evr.Can The Heat make it atleast a 6 or 7 game series??
If you know baseball you know Babe Ruth is the only answer. As someone had mentioned he was also a very god pitcher, possibly a Hall of Fame pitcher had he done that more. A lot of people who look at his numbers compare them to todays guys era. The numbers are still great when they do they but that doesn't give him full credit. During a few season he had more home runs than WHOLE TEAMS. You have to take into account the era he played in and to do what he did during the dead ball era, he is easily the best ever.http://www.baseball-reference.com/r/ruth...
How about that crazy Yankee rally this afternoon?
ted williams. end of question. look him up.Who is the starting catcher for Toronto?
i say it would be betweenBabe Ruth
Ty Cobb
Honus Wagner
Cy Young
TY COBB hands down, thats why he was 1st into the hall of fame. a lifetime average of .367, 297 triples, 4,191 hits, 12 batting titles (including nine in a row), 23 straight seasons in which he hit over .300, three .400 seasons (topped by a .420 mark in 1911), and 2,245 runs. Intimidating the opposition, "The Georgia Peach" stole 892 bases during a 24-year career.
Which player holds the most hits in a row?
I'd say the Babe...If he actually took care of himself. He'd have a Home Run record that would be absolutely untouchable...Aside from him it'd be debatable between...Ty Cobb, Hank Aaron, Nolan Ryan, and Warren Spahn.
Why did the Florida Marlins send Anibal Sanchez to the minors?
First, I want to say Dark is a complete idiot and should be revoked from posting ever again. Second, I am glad someone finally figured out to say Tyrus R. Cobb. This guy was simply stellar. .366 career batting average. Enough Said. NOONE will hit above .366 in a year in the next five years and this guy averaged it.Are the White Sox ever gonna win another world series?
