No way. Bernie is done - they were going to give him a chance to come to spring training but he didn't take it. Melky is a far better fielder and I think the team should feel completely comfortable letting him fill in for as long as necessary!Beyond that, the Yankees have some terrific outfielders in the farm system (Kevin Thompson, who hit .300 when he was called up last year, and Kevin Reese, for example). So there's really no need to sign a new player just to fill in for Damon.
All the same, I hope Damon is able to play soon. :)

And Williams is a has been just like Jeter the peter eater, gaybambi, gayrod, and the rest of the Yankmee organization. ny will once again choke on someone's big bone at the end like they have in recent years. if damon goes on the DL they will not bring back williams due to him not showing up for spring training. they also will not bring him back for one they have to resign him and that is definitely not going to happen because the upper office looks at him as not taking what the team offered him. i am also a williams fan by the way and a paul oneil fan. now keep in mind the main reason he is not coming back because the yankees have an absolute stud with melky cabrera. hes a strong hitter with great speed and very good at covering the gaps. look at how he did last year .280 out of a backup is damn good.Who is the best clutch hitter for the braves this year?

Nope, he had his chance. I said it all along. All he had to do was show up. I'm very disappointed with Bernie this year. I was a huge fan of his. His legacy has lost some of it's luster in my eyes.
