Centralpinion, the Twins will win the Central. They have the youth in players like Joe Mahur and also the wise veterans like Santana. The team energy is great and I also feel as though the Tigers are not half as good as they were last year. It's gonna be the Twins for sure!I am going to say Tigers.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say the Cleveland Indians. They have an excellent starting rotation, with great depth. Sabathia is one of the top pitchers in the division and is among the best in the league. Westbrook is a solid number two guy who will get his season turned around. Cliff Lee is a winner. He may not have the best numbers, when he won 18 games last year, and he was the number 3 pitcher. Byrd is a wily veteran who knows how to pitch, and Sowers is a tremendous young pitcher poised beyond his years. Adam Miller, the top prospect in the system and a flamethrowing lefty is waiting at AAA in case if someone gets hurt. The bullpen is improved. It's no the best, but Borowski has done a nice job for the most part (exclude the Yankees' game) and Fultz hasn't been too bad either. They could use some help, but it isn't as bad as it was last year. Offensively, the Indians have the firepower to hit with anyone in the league. Sizemore is a sparkplug at the top of the lineup, with speed and power. Hafner and Martinez are a great 3-4 punch, Hafner with his power and discipline and knack for driving in runs and Martinez for his ability to get the clutch hit. Jhonny Peralta will bounce back offensively and will have a big impact in the bottom of the order and Barfield brings some more speed to the table. With a solid platoon of outfielders (Michaels, Nixon, Blake, Delucci) and up-and-coming run producer Ryan Garko, the Indians will score some big runs. The biggest question mark is their defense, which hasn't been much better than last year's, and last year's was terrible. If the Tribe can fix their defense and be average, their pitching and hitting will be enough to carry them to the AL Central title. The Twins don't have the offense to win the division, but they will be close. The White Sox pitching has some question marks surrounding it. The Tigers could make a run at it, but I think last year was their year and something will happen that will keep the Tigers from winning the crown, and the Royals, well the Royals just suck so there shouldn't be any issue there.
