Right now i still say no, but i dont think the giants signed zito because they thought he was better then schmidt. They signed him for this very reason i think, schmidt is more dominating in games, but has also battled injuries the last few years and although he still has great stuff his best days are behind him. Zito is more of a long-term solution, he'll be more durable for a longer time and initially wont put up numbers that are as good, probably not even close to schmidts but over time it'll work out in the giants favor i think. I also think the giants were looking for sumone to bring fans after barry retires or leaves or w/e, so the huge zito deal gives the franchise a face when he leaves, although i dont agree with it.
