Why the throwing routine after a strikeout?

Unfortunately, that is not the routine. The routine is to throw the ball "around the horn" which includes the entire infield. It has been a long time tradition. How do i learn to throw a slider, curvball, and change up?
I've heard a couple of explanations about this over the years, but basically it's just a way for the players to stay loose. If no one is on base then the catcher, third baseman, shortstop, and second baseman get to practice throwing the ball around. The reason why the first baseman isn't included is because the first baseman rarely makes a throw so he needs the practice less than the others.Pete Rose: eligible or ineligible for the Hall of Fame and why.?
Yeah, shouldn't "around the horn" be from catcher to third to 2nd to shortstop, then handing or tossing the ball to the pitcher. How many brothers have played together in the MLB?
