Mlb team in the carolinas? could it work?

Question:i have always been a little surprised that there is not a professional team in south carolina or north carolina. i know there aren't many big cities, but you would think charlotte for one may be able to get a large enough fan base. obviously it worked for football with the panthers. i know football is big in that area, but isn't baseball too? do you think it would work or not?

Build a dome and they will come!

Good luck with a new franchise!

Did the Yankees finally win a game?

That would be a good idea, so when i visit down south, i could go to a game.

Whos is your favorite current baseball player ? and why?

If any state would get one of those two it would be North Carolina. They have hockey and hoops. Baseball is something they are looking forward to down there.

What should my daughter name her softball team? Whichever name she picks gets the points?

I wouldnt be surprised if MLB decided to expand to either of the carolinas. Although I'd rather see a team move there then another expansion, we have enough teams with bad players already. The Myrtle Beach area is now the 2nd fastest growing area behind only Las Vegas. Something on the eastern side of Charlotte or near Wilmington would probably work.

What is the highest average by a player by end of the season?

I don't see why not an Expansion Team is the Best way to go, I don't see the Pirates, Marlins or Devil Rays Move to Charlotte, Though I personally want them to.

Who do you think the most overrated baseball player is?

I definitely see the Blue Jays coming down there, and then it will be an "American" Series instead of World. Whatever, but yes, I had that feeling too. Raleigh Renegades haha or something like that, yeah, would be fun. ~N

How good do you think Johan Santana is ?

I definetly think a major league baseball team would work out in the Carolinas.More so in North Carolina. In both states there are plenty of minor league teams and college teams that are pretty well supported.ECU,UNC,and NC State all usually are ranked or becomed ranked in the top 25 during the season(University of Charlotte also has been ranked this season). And then there are the minor league teams such as the charlotte knights,Durham Bulls,Carolina Mudcats,Kinston Indians,Myrtyle Beach Pelicans,Winston Salem Warthogs, and then another 7 low A teams between both North and South Carolina. Then you have to remember that Virginia also does not have a team and a Carolina team would recieve support from lower to Mid Virginia giving it a pretty big fan base.I live about 2 hours from Raleigh in a huge baseball town named Greenville.I could not see a baseball team failing in this area.If I had to pick a location to put the team in I would probably put them either in Raleigh or just west or south of it.

Were can i find cheap Dodger tickets??

God, I hope not. That the NHL is there makes this (also) hockey fan nauseated enough.
The Carolinas have lots of minor league baseball. They are minor league states with minor league cities. Atlanta and FL don't even deserve their teams. The South is not major league in any respect. Get used to it!

Who was the first major league catcher to hit 20 homers and steal 20 bases in one season, in 1999?

No way ! too many minor league teams in North Carloina & South Carolina. Such as the Carolina League, IL, SAL. And the attendance at the games isn't 90-99% full.

Can i watch yes network online?

NC fans interest in professional sports rank accordingly: (1.) NASCAR, (2.) Football, (3.) Hockey, (4.) NBA Basketball. If baseball were to come to NC, you can rank it at (2.). NC has been ready for an MLB team for a while and I'd love for it to reside in the piedmont triad location. You can't beat watching an MLB game during the spring and summer months. Grabbing a couple of beers and watching the Yankees lose to the Carolina Curveballs or Copperheads or Carburetors, that would be magical. Let's face it, NC loves its southern style of sports (NASCAR, Football) and what's more southern than baseball.

Does any one know what two mlb managers have played under Joe Torre?
