Junction Jack - the rabbit dressed as a railroad engineer - is the mascot of the Houston Astros (since 2000). Why a rabbit? Because it is lovable and kids easily identify with it. That's what a mascot is for - provides entertainment, makes the fans happy and makes the game experience a true family affair.
