Your Honest Opinion on the Cubs This year?

Question:

Answers:

What was the name of the ex-Blue Jay...?

The question is, can they get to the playoffs? Certainly possible with their rotation and Soriano, who won't go 40-40-40 (HR, SB, Doubles) but will provide down the stretch. Still, Cubs have their work cut out.

If they do make it, what about the Curse of the Goat and their long World Series drought? Somehow, you get the feeling a 8-0 lead with 2 outs in the ninth won't be safe. Still, superstition aside, Cubs would have a decent chance. Pitching wins playoff games, and Cubbies have a rotation that could win games, though their bullpen should maybe be strengthened before the trading deadline.

I am the coach of a t-ball team. I am looking for a poem to give them at the end of season. Any help is great!

Any team with the heart and soul of the Cubs always has a chance. And Dem Bums have the best fans on the planet!

Are there any left handed shortstops?

Honestly...

Better luck next year.

Just wondering if someone could let me know what WHIP is?

theyll be a .500 team and miss the playoffs

and rich hill is their ace

Who will be the top 5 pitchers in NL and AL this year?

They're a slightly above average team. Soriano makes them good. But I don't think they'll contend or even make the playoffs. I like the rotation of Lilly, Hill and Marquis to support Zambrano. They still need a closer. And they're still devastated by the injuries of Wood and Prior every year.

Why Negro Leagues?

They will have a much better team than last year and will make a serious run at the playoffs, but I don't expect them to make it very far if they do.

The front end of their rotation (Zambrano, Lilly, Rich Hill) is strong, but their back end is a little weak. Carlos Zambrano seems to be affected by contract talks, and don't expect Alfonso Soriano to repeat his career year last year, since it was of course a contract year that, surprise surprise, landed him a huge contract.

On paper, though, they are a decent team. The pitching is decent, the bullpen is serviceable, and they have strong bats in Lee, Ramirez, and Soriano. Also, they play in the very weak NL Central.

Then again, they are the Cubs, so you never know what kind of misfortune will befall them eventually.

Jackie Robinson Day Sunday?

I'd say that they need to get more runs in.

They have great pitching and it seems like it's going to be a waste of talent unless the Cubs can somehow manage to get some runs.

Damon Bruce on KNBR 680?

If I gave my honest opinion on Carlos Zambrano and Alfonso Soriano, the Yahoo! censors would display several asterisks instead of the words I would use to describe them. Fortunately, the phrase "gutless weasel" isn't asterisked, so my honest opinion on Rich Hill can be fully expressed.

As for the rest of the team, I wish only good things on them. It was nice seeing Jason Marquis pitch several scoreless innings against the Cardinals, although I wish he had done more of that FOR the Cardinals.

Can anyone name the world series champions in 2006?

Honest opinion....

Their roster looks like they are a team to be afraid of (which they are) but in the end, it is just a sad attempt to do what the Yankees have done with their money. You just can't buy your way into the playoffs, even the Yankees are struggling now. Granted, they will have individuals on the team with phenomenal years (Rich Hill for example), but they are just not quite there yet as a team.

Which sports athtlete can adapt to any sport and become an all star type player?

Cubs are doing better than last year. They got better people, especially soriano. I just hope prior or woods dont go on the Dl Each and every time. It's too annoying when they are on the Dl.
