If Bonds had never hit 73 home runs in a season would we have ever questioned him?

Question:To make the question more clear. Did the 73 HRs throw up a huge RED FLAG on his career?

Answers:

Why can't girls play in the MLB?

We would have questioned him anyway. Bonds has 511 stolen bases in his career, so that shows you how much smaller he was as a Pirate.

If a small leadoff hitter turns into a huge slugger, people are going to ask questions.

Still, I think we are being slightly unfair to Bonds. True, he is a steroid taking cheat, but everybody makes it out like he's the only one. McGuire, Canesco, Caminiti are three examples, and these are just retired players. Several active players have clouds over them as well.

Besides, the legend himself, Babe, injected an extract from sheep testes to supposedly increase his potency. This apart from being a womanizing, violent, alcoholic during Prohibition.

Still, I don't like the idea of Barry passing Aaron, one of the true gentlemen of the game.

Do you think BARRY BONDS will pass hank arons record in the next two monthes?

Yes, but not as much. The closer he got to the career mark, the more he was gonna be watched. But the huge number of 73 did throw up the red flag. I think it's great for him that he's hitting home runs right and left again now that he's healthy, so that people will realize that he's a great hitter.

Will Ryan Howard of the Phillies regain his sweet swing of last year?

I think it did only because it was out of left field (har har).

How many home runs did he hit the season before? 45? Couldn't have been more than 50, and lets be honest, that's a pretty hefty jump.

Whose versatile athlete's nickname was inspired by her mighty baseball swing ?

The 73 HR season certainly threw up a big red flag, given that he had not broken 50 in any of his previous seasons.

However, he would have been questioned anyway because of the extreme physical transformation. Bonds is an enormous man now, and if you look at pictures of his days as a Pirate, you'd hardly recognize him. He was a skinny power hitter who was a speedy threat on the basepaths.

Who is a better player(Offense/Defense/everything else), Carlos Beltran or Andruw Jones?

I think that Bonds would have been questioned even without the 73 homerun season because if you look at the MAJOR physical changes that happened during his career and not to mention his personal trainer was in the business of selling steroids. Bonds could hit for power even as a young skinny player though and probably would have hit 500+ HRs anyway but I think steroids lifted him to the next level and I hope he breaks a leg before he overtakes a legend like Hank!!

MLB fans click?

if he did use drugs thats his own problem. i however don't care. baseball is a team sport and it all about the world series and winning it.

Texas Rangers fans, what was the name of the player that was deaf?

I have questioned alot things about the use of drugs in baseball well before Barry, Sammy or Mark hit several HRS. mainly because of Dwight and Darrel and to see how they still played the sport though they were arrested for it and even though they weren't performing at the levels that Mark, Sammy and Barry had during their Single season HR records. the use of any drugs in a sport reguardless of of its affects should not be allowed to play, it sets a poor example to the Kids that look up to these ball players.

Is 'Reva P' a hypocrite when she posts 'libelous' comments against Barry Bonds, yet accuses me of the same...?

No. What threw up the red flag is that he said he used a steroid cream. His body bulked up alot that sent up a red flag. There were a few other physical signs but it wasn't his performance on the field. He would have been a hall of famer without the chemicals.

Red Sox Bar in Minnesota?

The better question is if he weren't such an a-hole would we have ever questioned him?

Predicting Hitters?

steroids = cheating, it is as simple as that. anyone using should not be acknowledged for any new records because they were not achieved on an equal playing field..it would be an absolute disgrace to the game of baseball, or any other sport, to throw out old records and replace them with those steroid taking fakes....

Who were the 9 starters on the Chicago White Sox in the 2005 Season?

Yes because he would have broke the record anyway, and hes such a * that people everywhere are trying to take him down but Ill say this, just like every other misunderstood great he will get his due it may be when hes 70 years old but we will all be kissing his *** eventually.

Why do left-handed hitters have such a hard time hitting left-handed pitching?

Didnt throw up one for me. I live in missouri and after the 98 season of mcgwires 70 i bet two guys i work with that bonds would break it before he retired 100 each. Easy 200. I also named my son on june the 29th 2000 Titan Bonds Armstrong after the greatest hitter ever to play in our lifetime before he broke the record. Bonds was on pace to break the record several times into may but alway got back spasms or got hurt. It was just a matter of time before a healthy season took place and in 01 bam!! He is the greatest enjoy the show!!!

Baseball cards?

No, it would not have!! It was because he pasted a white man for the home run record!!
Hey Arun K, Bonds was never a lead off hitter! Get your lies straight!
