overall i would give jeter the edge over reyes, because he has shown the clutch factor that reyes has yet to display, plus he hits for a better average and has more power...reyes is a better defensive player and is faster overall, and is the future of the position as jeter moves further into his 30sWhat player has already struck out a league leading 51 times in 37 games?
It has to be reyes for a number of reasons.He's a better fielder (better fielding percentage and covers more ground)
He's got more power (although, he hasn't quite figured out when he should or shouldn't be swingin for the fences)
He scores more runs, steals more bases, and more important to his teams offense. If you look at the games in which Reyes scores, the Mets have over .800 winning percentage. When Jeter scores, the Yanks have about a .580 winning percentage.
The two strengths that Jeter has over Reyes are his ability to deliver in the clutch and his consistency over the last several years.
no Jeter is not he's the most overrated though. Give yourselves Tejada, A Rod, and Vizquel. There are others I can't think of right now but no Jeter has a weak arm and doesn't have the range anymore. Sorry.

NO. the best fielding Shortstop in the game right now is... Adam Everett... too bad his bat isn't anywhere near as good as his glove.
