Yes A combination of Cricket, Rounders and even what's called Town Ball or the New England game of baseball where a runner could be put out by soaking (that is hitting him with a thrown ball). The New York Knickerbockers of the 1840's were the first team to issue rules similar to what we truly know as baseball. Teams still occasionally use those v1840's rules today though teams playing with 1860's rules are more common.
