Toss up...Ryan Zimmerman vs Alex Gordon, better player by the end of their career?

Question:I'm torn, Zimmerman has already done it at the big league level so I'm gonna lean toward him. However, I think Gordon has slightly more upside running. Neither is on a very good team at this point. I still like Zimmerman a bit more.

I don't think the St. Louis Cardinals got their Championship rings at the home opener did they?

One thing Gordon has going for him is George Brett bringing him along and helping him. Zimmerman doesnt have that in Washington. But in my book, its a draw...

What are the advantages and disadvantages of a Stealth Bat?

The Nationals are currentl;y rebuilding their team so Zimmerman wont have much to work with in these next few years but in the future, they with be a team to watch out for. The opening day rotation for the Nationals only had one combined Major League win. They're rebuilding, and in a few years, they'll have a great team and Zimmerman will have a lot to work with.. Zimmerman has also proven himself already with over 100 RBI last season.

Will Pete Rose get into the Hall of Fame before or after Barry Bonds? Will Pete Rose ever get in?

If Ryan Zimmerman can produce those kinds of numbers with no one around him just imagine when he does get some talent around him.

I'll take Zimmerman.

Solve a urban legend? June 25th 1876?

I also think Gordon has a little more upside. They both have Gold Glove potential, Zimmerman was actually a shortstop in college. They both run very well, and Gordon may steal a few more bases. I think that they will both be .300 hitters. The one big difference is that Gordon has better power potential. Zimmerman hit very few HRs in college, but seemed to find his power stroke last year, but there is no doubt Gordon will hit at least 30 in a season. One big difference is that Gordon is a lefty hitter, while Zimmerman is a righty. Because lefties hit righties better, and there are many more righty pitchers, Gordon more than likely will hit for a higher average. Still, you make a good point when you say Zimmerman has already done it in the majors. He got off to a very slow start last year, but really turned it on in June. We'll have to watch Gordon a bit before we know who's better. I would take either one really.

I have to disagree with the gentleman below me. I hardly think that Zimmerman at age 23, has peaked. Most players don't reach their full potential until 28-29, so I don't think we've seen the best of Zimmerman just yet.

Being serious who should the mets trade to get a better pitching rotation?

Zimmerman has peaked, whereas no one really knows what Gordon is capable of on the major league level. It will be interesting, assuming each puts up some numbers the next few years, what teams they end up on, assuming they don't stay in Washington and Kansas City respectively. Being I'm not high on Zimmerman, I'll take Gordon for his potential.

Rate my team?

I hate to say it but BASED ON **** WHAT has zimmerman peaked? You mean at the ripe age of 24/25. All he has done has hit and play defense at the major league. Its his 2nd full season. Peaked? Do you watch sports? Zimmerman will be an all star fixture and the best 3b in the league in 2 years (better than caberra based on defense to go with bat). Although gordon could be very good he is still green and unproven. Talk to me after he had a full season. Ill take zimm. Peaked give me a break.

Little leages!!Why?? AHH!?

zimmerman is 22 years old,he is the next cal ripken,in a nationals uniform for disguise, they both will be good, zim will be great
