Question:Lets face facts, Posada doesn't play the quality game that the Yankees need as a catcher plus he's not the best hitter. IRod would be a great (and in my opinion neccesary) addition to the yankees. With him behind the plate I think that the Yankees would be on their way to the World Series!!GO YANKEES!

sorry dude, but you don't know what you're talking about. Posada had his best defensive season last year and had one of his best offensive seasons. He also hit an opposite-field HR yesterday and is already looking like a stud this season.In fact, his offense has been better than the Yankee DH offense over his career which makes him a likely solution to stay as a DH/C while he grooms a prospect after Giambi's contract runs out.
Seriously, I could see Posada putting up .300 30 100 for some years as a DH.
Are you serious Posada had a very solid year last year tracking down runners and hitting. Plus he has a good knowledge of the Yanks current picthing staff with Pettite back in the rotation and how to call a game. He homered on opening day.. which showed great power to right center. Not taking anything away from Rodriguez who has one of the strongest arms in the league, but I see the same quality of player between the two. Posada has the love of the Yankees faithful. Go Bronx Bombers!!

You do realize that Posada played the majority of the games in '98 and '99 when the Yankees won the World Series both years (Girardi played about 40% of the time). You also seem to have forgotten that Posada was the Yankees full-time catcher in 2000 when they won. Posada is never injured, is the most durable catcher in the game, and leaves his guts on the field. He also hit 23 homers and drove in 93 runs last season, both more than Rodriguez. With Posada, you know you'll get 20 HR and 80-90 RBI a year, which is great for a catcher.Also, Posada has never had his name mentioned when it comes to steroids like you-know-who. Exactly what facts do you want us to face? Posada still has a gun for an arm, and while Rodriguez still does also, it's pretty close at this point. Also, Posada is 35, and common sense would tell you that you don't replace one 35 year old catcher with another. Posada has not been the problem with the Yankees not winning, it's the lack of clutch hitting and pitchers with no guts. You can have "I-Rod", 99% of us Yankee fans will keep Posada, a true Yankee (and non-steroid abuser).And sorry, Victor Martinez is no catcher. He's a DH/First baseman trying to play the position. Teams run wild on him. Great hitter, but not a catcher.

Jorge Posada is a great catcher and he will be on the Yankees until he retires.and Ivan Rodriguez is never gonna come to the Yankees even though i would love to see him come but if he did it would be a waste of thier money b/c they already have Jorge.
