plain and simple - YES.the weather in this state is so unpredicable - we're still looking at a chance of snow and its the middle of April. We've had blizzards in October with 4 feet of snow...

Yea,they should put iin a retractable roof so they don't end up like the Indians in Milwalukee.And it's so cold up there,even in the summer.I agree...Citys with terrible weather should have domes or retractable roof.

you guys can just come down I94 to Milwaukee if we are on the road, as we have already shown, we make great hosts to outside teams.And to answer your question, no, they are not stupid. The cost of a retractable roof would not have passed in a state building a new college football stadium and a new Twins ballpark while the Vikings are begging for a new stadium as well. Besides, the metrodome is not being torn down, they could still use it as a backup site for baseball.
Baseball is only meant to be played outdoors. I went to a game at the Metrodome and it was horrible sitting indoors on a beautiful day watching the game played on beat up carpet. Detroit has always had an outdoor stadium and I'd take a game in the cold over an indoor one anyday. If you can't take the cold you shouldn't live in Minnesota. Retractable roofs are a waste of taxpayers money because they are much more expensive and only necessary in wet climates such as Miami.
