The Mets swept the Cards in a three game opening series. Were the Mets that good or were the Cards that bad..?

Question:Should Tony LaRussa of the 2006 World Series Champs, St. Louis Cardinals, be removed as manager of the Cards. For some reason, LaRussa gives the appearance as though he just doesn't care...

Or is the season too early to comment about, regarding pitchers and managers...?

Answers:

What is the longest distance a homerun has been hit in the major leagues?

It's a combo of the two. The Mets put up very good offense and even better defense. Seven doubleplays in two games, I mean come on, and how about the diving catch by Alou and the sliding catch yesterday by Beltran. Two-run HR and a solo HR by Beltran plus a solo shot by Reyes in one game show how strong the Mets can be. And who knew El Duque would produce 2 RBIs? Shawn Green also looks promising so far. Furthermore, the Mets pitching staff so far have proven everyone wrong. Glavine, El Duque and John Maine put up sterling performances and Heilman has been successful at booting the Mets out of dangers when they needed him to. On the other hand, the Cards pitching staff ain't too shabby either. Except with Braden Looper yesterday who pitched solid 5 innings until he gave up a two run HR to Beltran which started everything for the Mets. The outfield, however, has been awful. So Taguchi, Skip Schumaker and Preston Wilson look lost out there. Lastly, talking about managers, Tony LaRussa is a good manager. A good manager doesn't always mean a pleasant manager. On the whole, it is only the first three games of the season. But if the first games of the season really do indicate something about how a team's going to do for the rest of the season, then the Cards will in big trouble and the Mets will make it to the playoffs again, easily.

Baseball training help?

Both, a team that plays badly makes a good team look better. Wait till the all-star break, even though i can`t stand Larussa, he`s a good manager.

Whatever happened to Bret Boone?

LOL, you're asking this question only 3 games into the season? Please. I believe one of the years the Yanks won, they lost their first 5 games of the season.

It's way too early to jump to conclusions on any teams right now. Wait at least a month before worrying.

Mlb announcers?

Larussa is a very good coach, i dont care what anyone says. If the cards fired him it would be a mistake. And to answer ur question... the Mets are just that damn good. They'll be in the series... i promise.

Greg Maddux?

Too early and Tony La Russa is the best manager of all time. If you have watched any Cardinals games or had half a brain you would know that he doesn't show a lot of emotion. Go Cards!

It is way too fuckin early, what kind of fan are u! O right another dumbass from New York.

How much of a differnce does it make between pitching on a mound and throwing on flat ground?

It's a combination of both. The Cardinals pitching is a question mark this year, and the Mets have a good offense.

La Russa has been a successful manager throughout his career, and is one of the Cardinals keys to success. It's way too early to know if this series was a fluke, but even if the team performs poorly, it would be a mistake to blame a hall of fame caliber manager. La Russa is a great manager, and if they fail, it is because of their lack of offseason moves to improve an aging team.

Wouldn't you guys like to see baseball played in the rain?

i think the cardinals could have played alot better, im a very loyal cardinals fan and ill be honest after seeing how they played i just about jumped ship, but its early and i think they'll turn it around Tony LaRussa has a big name in the game becuase he shows alot of passion and i think he can turn them around. but im also not much of a larussa fan myself

but you do have to give some credit to the mets they played ok

Has baseball ever had a quadruple crown winner, hitter?

A lot of people expect the Cardinals to be great this year, but remember that they only won 83 games last year. Sure they turned it on in thet post season, but now that the NL, especially the NL Central has improved, I dont see the Cards going to the playoffs this year.

Which Red Sox starter will garner the most wins in '07?

Mets pitching was oustanding throughout the series, a lot teams are going to get sweot if the opposition only gives up 2 runs in a 3 game series. The Mets pitching staff isn't going to be able to pitch like this all year, but they do have some veteran arms, along with some new talent. Besides the pitching the defense and offense of the Mets was superior to the Cards. The Cards outfield alone had 3-4 miscues in the series. I don't think it is panic time for the Cards, they will win their fair share of games this year, just a tough series out of the gate, offense was lacking and their best pitcher had am awful outing and now has to miss a start. The Crads lineup is strong, Pujols and Rolen will hit, just have to be patient, still 159 games left!

Would Anyone Agree That The Twins Will Win The World Series?

The Mets were that good. They're right, Beltran makes it look so easy. And I was kinda wonderin' what was goin' on with the Cards' outfielders. Whoa.

Although it probably is a little early for comment... but GO METS!!

Videos links of why cricket is better then baseball?

A mix of both because the cards were outscored 20-2 in the series, but the Mets mostly dominated.

Who are the top high school baseball pitchers this spring?

LaRussa is a great manager and is not at all to blame. Let's keep this in perspective; no team in MLB will not have at least a 3-game losing streak sometime this season. Give LaRussa and the Cards a break.
