When will Pedro Martinez come back this year for the Mets?
Question:And will he be as lights out as always before? Will his pitches and repertoire change?
Answers:
Anybody know where I can find...?
He was losing velocity on his fastball during his last couple of years with the Red Sox. He may be back - according to reports - with the Mets before the all-star break. Any older pitcher can't simply rely on heat, but must use off-speed stuff to setup the fastball. The problem with Martinez is his fragility before the injury.he was a 6-7 inning pitcher - max - when healthy. The Mets need that many innings from him as a starter.Should MLB go back to 154 game schedule and add more Double Headers?
july, hes getting too oldi have heard that the soonest he can come back was the allstar break, but I have also read that he might require another surgery making him out for the year (that was an unreliable source though).
expect him back a few weeks after the allstar break this year

Hopefully, he'll be back by the All Star break. But expect his bag of tricks to change. Pedro has evolved and he's changed his act up to work well with what he has. I expect he'll do the same after this transformation as well. What is the fifth round draft rule for baseball players?

augustWhat does it take to throw a 95 mph fastball? arm strength? good mechanics? God given talent?
Well, right now the Mets see him coming back immediately following the All-Star break or in early August. This of course assuming he doesn't encounter any setbacks in his rehab. And he'll probably be rusty but he'll still have enough in him to be lights out.
It's said that he'll be back sometimes in August. Will he be lights out as always before? Hopefully. It's certainly good to hear that his rehab process has been going smoothly so far and he did say that he'll coming back strong as ever.
