Giant's Fans?
Question:Ok I just read that the Giants traded outfielder Jason Ellison for Mariners pitcher Travis Blackle. Do you think this is a good trade?
Also, it didn't say on the SF Giants website but will Travis Blackle just go to the minors to pitch or will he actually pitch in SF?
Thanks in advance.
Also another Giants question.why isn't Ryan Klesko on the picks for fantasy baseball on mlb.com?

Why aren't the red sox playing the mets this year?
It was either trade Niekro or Ellison (Sweeney was sent to the DL), who where both out of options. So I take it the Giants liked the Mariners' offer for Ellison, getting Travis Blackley (lhp) from the Mariners.Blackley is some what of a gamble because he was injured in 05' and didn't really regain in his stuff last year. Blackley is similar to Noah Lowry in terms of stuff, Blackley throws a high 80's fastball, a curveball in the mid 70s and his outpitch is a nice change-up. If this 24 year old lefty can bounce back from his shoulder injury and regain confidence he could be good. At this point I really see it being an even trade.
With the outfield, if Bonds and/or Roberts do get hurt, Todd Linden and Klesko(if he doesn't get hurt first) will step in. Also Kevin Frandsen has been getting some innings in at left and Fred Lewis or Clay Timpner (great "D") could be the first outfielders called from the minors.
Blackley was optioned to Fresno (AAA)
Who gets the loss and who gets the no decision in this situation and why?
This is not a good trade considering Dave Roberts and Barry Bonds are injury prone antiques. There's a good chance that Ellison was not happy with not starting and wanted out of there and the Giants did a great job of keeping it quiet.
We r putting 2gether a menz softball team. we r looking for a team name.?
I would have to say its a bad move. When was the last time Sabean made a good move? how he has kept his job is beyond me...Are the yankees worth more than an nfl team?
It was probably the best we could have gotten out of Ellison, he clearly was not going to play much, and we had to pull the trigger and get someone young for our sub-par minor league system, this kid Blackle we got was at one point considered one of Seattle's top prospects, anyone who was once considered (even if he is not today) a top prospect on any team, has to be good. Maybe a change in scenery will bring out the potential; however its a big IF because he missed an entire year because of an injury, so he has not pitched in the last two years. The last Australian pitcher we obtained was Damien Moss, and we all know how he turned out: BUST.Lets just cross our fingers and hope this guy Blackle turns out to be a steal.
As for Kelsko, he should be one of the available players soon.
I just hope we can kick some a** this year because missing the playoffs these past couple of years has left a foul taste in my mouth.
